#DanceMoms starts at ALDC LA with the moms coming in and the girls stretching. Holly is annoyed that Abby is late and Jessa says she doesn’t like it either. Abby comes in but then starts fussing with her hair instead of starting the session.

She finally calls for pyramid. Holly is annoyed she wasted their time. She fusses over her makeup and Jill says this mess is a red flag that something is wrong. She says LA makes Abby crazy. She finally starts and asks the girls if they really won or it was because Jeanette’s team got points off.

She says they can’t count on the other team screwing up and need to be at the top of their game. She has Maddie at the bottom of the pyramid. Melissa says Maddie is still filming her movie. Kalani is also at the bottom for missing. Then it’s Mackenzie and she tells her that her feet and lines are off.

Abby blows up when Melissa tries to defend her. Melissa says the moms yelled at her for not sticking up for Mackenzie so she tried it and now Abby is yelling at her. Kendall is next and she says she kicked the ball. Nia is next and she says she stepped up with the ball.

Next is JoJo for being in the ball then at the top is Brynn and says she was the big winner. Ashlee is thrilled with the feedback. This week is New York Dance Experience in Calabasas. This show comes with live critiques.

She gives solos to Kendall and Mackenzie. Abby mentions that she beat Maddie last season but then didn’t leverage that win to anything. Melissa tries to take up for her but Abby says her weaknesses are the same as the ones when she was eight or nine.

Abby asks what’s going on with her and why she’s making excuses. Holly is happy to see Melissa standing up to Abby. Abby gives a third solo to Nia. She says all three solos will compete against each other for one solo next week. The group routine is Hungry Like the Wolves.

She tells them they need to show more desire for a win and them working on their shortcomings. She wants more improvement from them. She says the world thinks she struck gold with them and says their lives are about to change.

She tells them she’s forming a new team. She says she’s doing a mini team which is age 6 to 8. She says that means more wins in LA. Holly asks why now and Abby says she needs to start with minis and train them to be junior elite competitors.

Holly is frustrated that Abby is planning on focusing on new kids. They start group rehearsal. Jill is annoyed that she’s turning her back on the kids when their kids are peaking. Holly says she did this before with the select team and that flamed out.

Melissa is annoyed that Abby is all over Mackenzie and Holly asks if she was drinking since she’s all fired up. Melissa says Maddie is eight inches taller than Mackenzie but Abby wants her to jump higher. Melissa says she wanted Mackenzie to know she’s there for her.

Melissa is more and more annoyed with Abby. Jill says they need to talk about this and asks if they saw the news on Good Morning American. Jill says it’s why Abby is going crazy. She plays the news story about Abby’s bankruptcy fraud charges that come with a huge fine and possible jail time.

Jessa worries if they will come and arrest Abby and Melissa says that’s why Abby has been crazy and lashing out. Jill says Abby can’t brush this under the rug. Holly says this will be a major distraction. They watch the group rehearsal and see Abby scratching her nose.

She says that means you get news then Jill asks if she says that means you’re in the news. Jill says they need to ask Abby how she wants them to address it if they are asked about it. Jill says she doesn’t think Abby is guilty but knows this will be a big deal.

Kendall hopes to win her solo and show she can step up when Maddie isn’t there. Nia starts her Empire/Cookie-inspired jazz routine. Holly says she likes the idea of it but says this is not a winning number for a competition. Holly is annoyed when Abby tells Nia to twerk.

Nia says no and Abby says Cookie is wild. She moves on to Mackenzie’s couch and potato chip solo. Abby goes off on Mackenzie for forgetting the name of her solo. Abby sends her off in annoyance. She calls her a smartass and says Mackenzie has the quote wrong – but Abby is wrong.

Melissa goes to Abby and says she didn’t need to call her a smartass. Abby says she won’t call her anything again. Mackenzie is crying and JoJo is comforting her and Kalani says she’s just being mean like she always does. Melissa is livid and says she knows so much dirt on Abby.

Abby works with Kendall and Jill rolls her eyes. Abby says Kendall needs to be more than just a pretty girl. Abby calls Jill over. She growls and goes. Abby says Kendall is doing so much better than Mackenzie because she’s paying attention.

Abby calls Mackenzie in and says no attitude and no crying. Melissa says Abby is taking out her legal problems on her daughter. She tells the other moms that she has been a good friend to Abby and this should not happen. Jill says Melissa feels betrayed and is angry at Abby. .

Melissa comes in and rants at Abby and Abby says stop making excuses for Mackenzie. Holly thinks this is great since this is what the rest of them have to deal with this all the team. Melissa cries and says she wants Abby to love Mackenzie likes she used to.

Abby says Melissa is trying to be mother of the year to Mackenzie now that Maddie is gone. Abby insists she’s trying to give Mackenzie technical help and Melissa is off the deep end. She says when Mackenzie doesn’t win, it’s on Melissa.

Abby has the girls howling as part of the wolf routine. Then Abby says she hopes they can win without Maddie and says they need to not be seen as losers by the minis. The moms talk about how Abby is acting crazy and is in denial.

Jessa says Abby is trying to hang on all that she can and says this is critical. Jessa thinks Abby is going to blow up and doesn’t want to see all they’ve worked for go down in flames. It’s competition day and Holly worries what will be going on with the media and public based on Abby’s legal troubles.

The team shows up and they get the usual cheers from the crowd waiting outside. Jill is stunned – there are shirts that say #FreeAbbyLee even though Abby hasn’t been convicted. Holly is excited about Nia’s solo and says Abby is making it worse by yelling at Mackenzie and giving up on Nia for not twerking.

Jill says Kendall looks stressed by the old looking make up she has to wear. Jessa encourages her and Abby says no drama – focus on the technique. She calls Kendall over and says take it off and dance like she never has.

Holly is annoyed that Abby let her pull that off since she has made Nia dance with stuff she didn’t like. Abby reminds them they will be critiqued so they need to be amazing. Nia is out first. Holly hopes Nia gets the highest score to get the solo even though she and Abby argued over choreography.

The judges tell her that it lagged and she was sitting in it. She says she brought the sass and says keep pushing. Kendall’s solo is next and Jill is happy to be on Abby’s good side this week. The judges tell Kendall to work on the emotion of the storytelling.

She says she needs to see her darkness and not just her pretty looks. Mackenzie is next. Melissa is worried and hopes her daughter nails it. Mackenzie finishes and the judge says she loved it and calls it dynamic and says watch your ankles because it’s a little soft but says good job.

Melissa is thrilled and says it’s hard. The girls now prep for the group number. Abby calls the soloists over and tells Kendall she didn’t tell her story. She says Nia had a hyperextended food. She tells Mackenzie the ankle comment is digging a knife into her chest.

Jill is stressed about Abby’s legal issues and how hard it will hit them all. She tells Abby she should talk to the kids and Abby says she’ll let them know then walks off and avoids it. Jill tells the other moms that Abby is in denial. Jill wonders if they need to pack up and go home.

Jessa says she’s not going anywhere and Jill says their kids are American’s sweethearts and she needs to focus on the brand and on Kendall. Nia says they have to show Abby they can do this without Abby. The judges say they like the costumes but someone fell so there was a flaw.

Jill says it was powerful but is bummed that Kendall tripped on her skirt. She hopes they can pull out a win. It’s awards time. Junior solos ae first. Mackenzie takes fourth place. Abby is angry. She says her feet and legs suck. Third place goes to Kendall.

Jill is thrilled. The teen solos are next and Nia takes second place in her division. Holly is happy and says the jazz solo was a loser so this is good. Overall group goes to Divine Dance. They lost group and Abby says this should show the mothers they need to push the kids.

Later, Abby rants to the kids that they should have always have a first place. She says Nia scored 292. Mackenzie was 295 and Kendall was 295.7. Kendall gets the solo and Holly is annoyed and says Nia’s solo wasn’t designed to win.

Mackenzie says her solo was too young for her and Abby says it was easy so that’s why she gave it to her because her feet and legs aren’t right. She says her minis are coming next week and it’s busy. Jill is aggravated that Abby is doing this and says the whole world knows it.

Holly tells Abby they are her pack and she’s not a lone wolf. Abby says thank you. Holly says if Abby is convicted she can go to jail. Abby says they might be there too and Jessa wonders if that was a threat saying they could go to jail too.

Holly says she’s done and Abby can be on her own. Jessa thinks Abby is going to snap and Jill says it’s going to be big when she does.

THE END!
