Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that there’s still hope for Steve (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans). These two are meant to be together, but they just haven’t been on the same page lately. Steve moved out of the house to give Kayla space. He also traded his job as a private investigator for one as a bartender. He wanted to put Kayla’s mind at ease.
Kayla has some lingering concerns, but she thinks they could make progress with therapy. Unfortunately, Steve isn’t on board. He reluctantly agreed to try a session, but a bailed a short time later. It seems Steve just isn’t willing to budge on this yet.
However, Kayla will soon have a near-death experience and it could change everything. Perhaps Steve will realize that the least he can do is suck it up and talk about his feelings. That certainly won’t kill him. Kayla, on the other hand, will come close to losing her life over the drama that followed Steve’s return.
Once Kayla awakens, Steve should be willing to do whatever it takes to win her over. They might be on their way to a real reunion. Many Days fans will be thrilled to see it. When Kayla met Steve, he was a little rough around the edges. Kayla couldn’t help but feel drawn to Steve in spite of his flaws. That’s still true to this day.
Likewise, Steve is never really happy without “Sweetness.” When Kayla lost her hearing and speech in a brutal attack, Steve learned signed language and stood by her. He was determined to marry the woman he loved.
Kayla’s hearing and speech eventually returned, which led to the best “Stayla” moment in Days history. When Kayla finally uttered “I do” at their epic wedding, Steve was overjoyed. It seems like Kayla and Steve were always destined for supercouple status, even back in the ‘80s.
Of course, we have to mention another popular DOOL supercouple. When you think about Days of Our Lives, Bo (Peter Reckell) and Hope (Kristian Alfonso) almost immediately come to mind. It was great watching the sparks between them for so many years.
Hope was a daddy’s girl who was a bit on the spoiled side. Bo was a shaggy, leather-wearing bad boy. Oddly enough, they were the perfect match. “Bope” fans will recall their famous smooch at the kissing booth. We also can’t forget about Bo riding in on his motorcycle and kidnapping Hope before her marriage to Larry Welch (Andrew Masset).
Even Bo’s recent return was everything we wanted and more. Bo fought out of captivity and made it home with some help from Steve. He even saved Hope from Aiden’s (Daniel Cosgrove) evil doppelganger.
Sadly, Bo died of a brain tumor soon after. Luckily, Hope was able to share some sweet memories with Bo before he died in her arms. Those poignant scenes capped off this supercouple’s fantastic run. As far as Days of Our Lives pairings go, Bo and Hope definitely rank near the top.
Nevertheless, only one ‘80s supercouple can reign supreme. Which pairing is the best and had the greatest enduring love story? Vote in Our DOOL poll!
