Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that Hope (Kristian Alfonso) will face some tough moments in prison. She’ll get a little protection from Marlena’s (Deidre Hall) lookalike, Hattie, but that doesn’t mean she’s going to enjoy the experience. Hope hates the idea of being away from Ciara (Vivian Jovanni), Shawn (Brandon Beemer) and the rest of her loved ones for 25 years.
Of course, Rafe (Galen Gering) is determined to get Hope out ASAP. They’ve been through so much, but they thought they were about to put the drama behind them. Instead, Hope is behind bars and Rafe doesn’t know what to do about it.
Days of Our Lives spoilers say Rafe will realize that he needs assistance. He’ll encourage Shawn to start digging around. They’ll hope that they’re missing some crucial info or at least some hints. There has to be more to the story. That’s just how it goes on a soap.
Steve (Stephen Nichols) and Shane (Charles Shaughnessy) will agree to help out with Rafe’s mission. “Operation Free Hope” will soon be underway. How will the gang get Hope out of the slammer? This is sure to be a tricky plot.
However, nothing is impossible in the soap world. There’s undoubtedly an explanation that will make perfect sense in Salem. Days of Our Lives buzz suggests that another gun may have been used to kill Stefano (Joseph Mascolo). Could someone else be the true murderer?
Let’s think about the facts. Days fans watched Hope shoot Stefano multiple times in his study. She was cowering in fear when Rafe walked in. All Rafe saw was the aftermath. Even Hope herself doesn’t remember pulling the trigger. We’ve seen many flashbacks of their horrific encounter, but perhaps there’s some trickery in play.
Since Hope was obviously out of her mind with grief, she’s an unreliable witness. Days viewers can’t trust what played out on screen either. What if Hope only thought she fired those shots? Someone could’ve easily been standing behind Hope without her knowledge. He or she could’ve gunned down Stefano and bolted.
It would’ve been an easy way to get away with murder. Did DOOL give us any major clues about this before? Not really, but that doesn’t mean anything. Sometimes the writers don’t know what’s coming until later. For example, Aiden (Daniel Cosgrove) tried to strangle Hope and they eventually inserted scenes where a doppelganger made the attempt instead.
We could be dealing with a similar situation here. Hope may be entirely innocent of the crime. She keeps repeating the “I don’t remember” mantra and that seems significant. Maybe that’s what Rafe and his crew will stumble upon. They could get updates on the real culprit.
Stefano has plenty of enemies who would’ve had a motive. Nevertheless, that may not be what Rafe will focus on initially. Even if there’s not enough evidence to put someone else away, Rafe might gather enough to get Hope off the hook.
