Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) will feel like her life is spiraling out of control. After she heard the news about Abigail’s (Kate Mansi) death, Jennifer quickly crumbled. She imagined Jack (Matthew Ashford) was comforting her, but even that didn’t help.
Of course, Jennifer is likely dealing with some guilt right now. While Abigail’s mental health was declining, Jennifer was wrapped up in her own addiction. She didn’t even notice that Abby was losing her grip on reality. Jennifer undoubtedly believes she failed her daughter.
That’s probably why Jennifer is so determined to get custody of Thomas. Jennifer couldn’t save Abigail, but she has a chance to protect Thomas from Chad (Billy Flynn) and the DiMeras. Chad’s behavior hasn’t been all that bad. He’s definitely drinking a little too much, but he’s not a raging alcoholic.
Chad is simply a husband in mourning. Unfortunately, that grief will take a toll on Chad. He won’t think he can really care for Thomas anymore. As a result, Days spoilers say Chad will decide that Thomas would be better off with Jennifer. He’ll prepare to give Jen custody in the near future.
Elsewhere, Jennifer will sink further into despair. She’ll hide out in a crummy motel and turn to a familiar crutch. Days of Our Lives spoilers indicate that Jennifer will pass out after taking some pills and downing some booze. She’ll feel like it’s the only guaranteed way to numb her pain.
Jennifer will succeed in forgetting her problems for a few hours, but she’ll just awaken with new ones. DOOL viewers know that Chad hired Belle (Martha Madison) as his legal representation. Belle will have a difficult decision to make when she finds Jennifer in such a terrible state.
Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) will also be there to witness Jennifer’s downfall. Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal that Kayla and Belle will make sure Jennifer gets home. They’ll hope to prevent additional relapses, but it’s clear that Jennifer still has a fight ahead of her.
Days spoilers say Jennifer will ask Belle to stay tight-lipped about this ordeal. Belle will reluctantly agree, but there may be some stipulations. Perhaps Jennifer will have to forget about seeking custody for now. She’ll need to get herself extra help as well. A couple of AA meetings here and there won’t cut it.
Jennifer should try to conquer her inner demons once and for all. Even though Belle plans on keeping quiet, Chad will inevitably find out what happened. However, Chad may surprise us by reacting with compassion. He knows Jennifer has been through a lot. Chad obviously can’t let Jennifer take Thomas in this condition, but he can promise her plenty of visits.
Still, we have to consider the possibility that neither one of them is capable of keeping Thomas at the moment. Other loved ones may have to pitch in. Maybe JJ (Casey Moss) and Gabi (Camila Banus) will lend a hand. They could use a story and they’re supposedly getting one soon.
