Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that Eve (Kassie DePaiva) is headed back to Salem, but her stint will be a short one. In a recent blog post, Kassie DePaiva announced some bad news about her health. She’s been quietly battling a serious illness, but she decided it was time to fill fans in.
DePaiva noted that she was asked to return to Days of Our Lives and she quickly began shooting. However, her comeback was derailed a short time later. During the July hiatus, doctors diagnosed DePaiva with acute myeloid leukemia. She’s been hospitalized for six of the last nine weeks.
DePaiva still has three months of treatment to go, but she remains hopeful about the future. “My prognosis is good,” said DePaiva. “I will not likely need a stem cell/bone marrow transplant, and we expect a complete cure.”
It’s clear that this is a deeply personal subject, but DePaiva didn’t want to keep everyone in the dark indefinitely. Eve’s return to Days is rapidly approaching and DePaiva wanted to be sure that we were all in the loop. She considers this “just a bump in the road” and is committed to staying strong in her faith.
DOOL viewers are certainly rooting for DePaiva to make a full recovery. DePaiva suggested that was her goal as well. “Although I’m unable to be ‘camera ready’ now…my goal is get back to stirring up trouble in Salem soon,” said DePaiva. She asked Days of Our Lives fans to keep her in their thoughts and prayers.

As for Eve, you can check out her brief return in September. She’ll head back to town for Theresa (Jen Lilley) and Brady’s (Eric Martsolf) wedding. Eve will find herself caught in the middle of the upcoming prison break storyline before the nuptials kick off. Exciting material lies ahead on DOOL.
