New General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that there is something off about Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez) and Valentin Cassadine (James Stuart) just handed proof of her strange history to Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) and Griffin Munro (Matt Cohen).
GH fans watching closely on Monday’s episode may have noticed some shocking details on the birth certificate that Valentin offered to Anna and Griffin. Charlotte’s birth date is May 5, 1992. That cute brown-eyed kid is 24 years old according to her birth certificate!
Yet she’s clearly somewhere between 5 to 7 years old, so how is that possible? Also, there is little doubt that Valentin is her biological father since he sliced his hand open, wiped the blood and handed it to Anna and Griffin to test against Charlotte.
Valentin wouldn’t do that unless he was certain of the outcome. We have to ask the obvious question – is Charlotte really 24 but only looks 5 because the Cassadines had her frozen? It seems strange for GH to go there but the Cassadines are known for freezing and unfreezing people.
Helena did it a number of times. In fact, Valentin could have been frozen too and that’s why he only came on the radar a few years ago. He and Charlotte could have been unfrozen at the same time and each has aged 5 years since then.
Remember Helena Cassadine (Constance Towers) herself was frozen at one time and so was Stavros Cassadine (Robert Kelker-Kelly). It’s kind of their family thing. What doesn’t add up in the equation is Claudette.
Given Bree Williamson’s age, she was 12 when she gave birth to Charlotte. Hmm. That literally does not add up. If Claudette is the kid’s biological mother, then maybe she was frozen too and was thawed out, ran off, and that’s when she met Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) and Griffin.
There’s also the matter of Valentin’s yet-unexplained obsession with Anna. He’s got that photo of her from the late 1980s and then, if you know your GH history, Anna went missing in 1992 and was found years later with a major gap in her memory.
Could Valentin and Anna have been involved during her missing years? Is that why she recognizes him? There is no telling where GH is going with this. Anna could be Charlotte’s real mother and Claudette is a red herring to shield the fact that Anna is the baby mama.
If Anna is the mom and she ran off after giving birth, Valentin could have frozen his daughter until he found Anna but then Helena double-crossed him and froze him too. Helena is more respectful of male Cassadines so she might have frozen him instead of killing him.
When someone thawed Valentin out a few years ago, he might have begun plotting his revenge for years of his life stolen. What else would explain Charlotte’s date of birth being 24 years ago besides freezing the kid?
Is this a strange Cassadine science plotline or did someone in the GH props department make the worst typo ever? What do you think GH fans? Are the GH writers resurrecting the Cassadine freezing people storyline? They already resurrected Jake Webber, so it’s not too much of a stretch.
