New General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Franco’s (Roger Howarth) desire to keep Liz Webber (Rebecca Herbst) safe from rapist Tom Baker (Don Harvey) will cripple their new relationship and open Liz up to considering a new man – Dr. Griffin Munro (Matt Cohen).
GH fans noticed the chemistry between Liz and Griffin long before Liz and Franco were a couple. Remember when her house burned down and Griffin pitched in to provide new things for her and her boys? He didn’t know her, yet was kind – and she was touched by the gesture.
But Griffin got sidetracked with the Claudette Bolland (Bree Williamson) mess and dealing with Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) and Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms). But then Claudette left and Griffin was a dad for a week with Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez).
Griffin’s frustration dealing with Charlotte at the MetroCourt Halloween party led to a second major moment between Griffin and Liz. She ran over to put a lid on Charlotte’s tantrum and comforted Griffin about the perils of parenting and he was grateful.
That time, Franco noticed the chemistry between Griffin and Liz, as did more GH fans. But then Tom came from Liz’s past to haunt them and he became the focus. This week, Franco will break his promise to Liz to leave well enough alone with Tom.
He’ll follow the recently released rapist Tom to see what he’s up to. Things escalate when Tom shows up at General Hospital and frightens Liz. That’s too much for Franco to handle and he physically attacks Tom to prove that he can protect Liz and that Tom needs to stay away.
According to GH spoilers, that’s when Griffin plays the hero. Griffin gets between Franco and Tom and breaks up the altercation and cools everything down. Liz will be upset about Tom showing at her work and Franco breaking his promise to her.
Franco will leave angry about the mess, upset that Griffin was the voice of reason, and hurting that Liz let Griffin comfort her. Later in the week, Griffin and Liz have a heart to heart. In a way, this might be a good pairing because both have mistakes in their past but are decent at heart.
Griffin will talk to Liz about some of his recent troubles and she’ll open up to him about who Tom is and her concerns about Franco. Griffin won’t make a play for Liz openly but the seeds are being planted. The last thing Griffin wants is to take another man’s woman considering his past.
However, the rapist plot has made Franco question himself. In Sam Morgan’s (Kelly Monaco) eyes, Franco is the same as Tom. He wonders if he deserves to be in Liz’s life and might decide that Liz should be with Griffin instead. This could set Liz and Griffin up to explore things.
Liz wants Franco now but if he can’t control his temper and urges to beat up every obstacle in her path, she could turn to Griffin out of frustration. Plus, Griffin is gorgeous and few women in Port Charles would turn down a chance to get with the hot former priest and glaze his strudel.
