New General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that although Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan) is grieving her dad’s supposed “death,” or because of it, she and Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) decide it’s time to move forward with their baby plans.
This week, Lulu will start the hormone therapy that will last about a month and then they will have the embryo thawed for implantation. But based on Lulu’s tragic past with babies, it seems quite unlikely that everything will go smoothly.
Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) stole the embryo that turned out to be Rocco and planned to keep their son. Then there was the mess with Maxie Jones’ (Kirsten Storms) lies and the baby that turned out to be Spinelli’s after a surrogate miscarriage.
With that in mind, it seems doubtful that Lulu and Dante will have an easy path to another baby. When they go to implant the embryo, General Hospital spoilers tease that we’ll find out what the empty envelope means – and it spells disaster!
Helena Cassadine (Constance Towers) told Lulu in her video will:
“It is to you that I owe the greatest and most sincere debt… Lulu has done the most for me, more than she’ll ever know. You may not appreciate this right away, and I understand you may not want to explore this. You can always ignore what this means, but I believe that you would regret that, because there may come a time when your life is empty, and this will give you what you need.”
Lulu stared at the envelope, clueless what it meant, but it will all become clear as soon as they go to implant the embryo. That empty envelope symbolizes the empty embryo canister that’s been in storage all this time.
Because it only takes a few hours to thaw an embryo, it should be late in Lulu’s preparatory process when Dr Lee discovers that there’s nothing in the container. It would have been easy enough for Helena to bribe someone to toss their embryo in the trash and refreeze the empty container.
With that embryo gone, there is no chance for Lulu and Dante to have another biological child. But there is still hope of another child. On the empty envelope is an address and at that address is, according to Helena, “what you need.”
What Lulu needs is another child. At that address, they should find a child that is Lulu’s – but not Dante’s. GH spoilers have long hinted that Helena did something with the Stavros-Lulu embryo she rescued from Crichton-Clark.
That embryo will be Lulu’s only shot at another child and it’s likely that baby was already delivered via surrogate and waiting for her on the island. Helena may have been planning to raise the child herself, then things went badly. So Lulu looks to have a child by Stavros possibly out there on Cassadine Island!
Helena was poisoned (and is dead or in hiding) and that messed up her plans but she left a hint so Lulu could find her child once she was ready for another baby. Lulu felt like she left Cassadine Island with no closure on her dad or the envelope.
Once Lulu and Dante are told the embryo container in storage is empty, it will become clear to Lulu what the entire significance of Helena’s ‘gift,’ the empty envelope with the address, was. It will kick off a return to Cassadine Island this Fall to get the answers she needs after the heartbreak when Dante and Lulu find out they can’t have the child they want.
