Tonight on NBC their new show Heroes Reborn returns with an all new Thursday January 14, season 1 episode 12 called, “Company Woman” and we have your weekly recap below. On tonight’s episode, Erica Kravid’s (Rya Kihlstedt ) past surfaces as the end of civilization approaches.
On the last episode, Luke and Malina united to rescue Tommy and save mankind in the wake of Noah’s vanishing. Meanwhile, at the mysterious Sunstone Manor, a battle raged to free prisoners under Matt Parkman’s control; Tommy and Miko teamed up against Erica. Did you watch the last episode? On tonight’s episode as per the NBC’s synopsis, “Erica Kravid’s past surfaces as the end of civilization approaches. Meanwhile, Malina scrambles to unite with Tommy and is joined by Luke as Quentin and Phoebe plot against them; and Matt Parkman tries to ensure his family’s safety, jeopardizing Taylor’s life in the process.”

#HeroesReborn starts with the sun flaring and waves of heat heading for the earth. The news reports it as a super flare and for people to stay indoors. Luke, Malina and their captives are still driving for Odessa.
Erica watches the news about Renautas. The news says billons of people will perish tomorrow when the flares hit. They are told to get to a government evacuation shelter. Tommy walks away and Emily says they need his sister.
He says they need to help people then asks where her gateway watch is. She says she wasn’t give one yet. He says she needs to get one. Tommy goes back down into the lab and Erica waits there. He asks if it’s true and she asks if it matters.
He says – let’s get this over with. He sits in the chair and slides his hands into the device. They activate the device and the process starts. Erica asks if he’s ready. She says they’ll send an advance group now then the rest tomorrow.
Erica tells them to monitor him closely. The portal opens and the watches chirp and the room of people is gone. The computer says – transfer complete. Erica says they need to keep him under control for 14 more hours.
She tells her man to make sure Otomo fixes Evernow and to stay on him then she’s called upstairs. Ren gets off a bus at the Gateway station. He looks around and sees people being scanned. Security checks him out and asks his name.
He’s told his access is granted and he needs to get his watch. He wonders why Otomo has brought him there. The news reports that Texas has declared a state of emergency. Malina wonders why the military are stopping people if there’s an evacuation.
Phoebe laughs smugly and says she’s public enemy number one and will never get into Gateway. Luke says they need to make some news but first they need to get rid of their excess baggage. He pulls a u-turn away from the line of traffic.
Erica puts her watch on for her transport and looks at an old Primatech business card. Parkman hauls Taylor in at gunpoint. He says she made him promises about his family but then made them expendable.
He holds out the gun as Erica tells him to wait. He makes Taylor put the gun to her head. Parkman asks Erica how it feels. Taylor cries. Parkman says let’s talk about family. Erica says Taylor has nothing to do with this.
Parkman says he wants three tickets to the future for him, his wife and son. Erica says he didn’t meet his obligation and she says Sunstone ended in disaster. Erica says give him what he wants. Parkman says she can lose her daughter and grandchild at once.
Erica glares and she goes to a cabinet. She hands him three watches and tells him to travel safely. He walks out and tells Taylor on the way out she can drop the gun. She collapses into her mother’s arms.
Luke stops the car and gets Phoebe and Quentin out. Tommy transports some more people. Richard talks to his assistant about how they need 12,000 people there for genetic diversity. Tommy hears them and says they promised to get everyone out.
He transports himself away. Erica asks Taylor if Francis is her baby’s father. Taylor asks her mom how it feels to know her grandchild’s father was one of them. Erica says not as unfamiliar as you would think.
We see a flashback of younger Erica at the bedside of a dying older man. She sits with the doctor who tells her that all he can do is give her father pain medication. Then he tells her he has abilities. He swats a fly then resurrects it to show her.
He says he can cure her father but she has to keep it a secret. She nods. He touches her thigh and pushes up her skirt then kisses her. He tells her it will be okay as she struggles a bit. They tell Erica that Tommy vanished after he got spooked.
She says finds his mother and you find him. She tells Taylor they can talk later and she tells her mother to stop. She gets upset and all the glass on her mom’s desk shatters. Taylor laughs and says she’s an EVO.
Her mother says she can’t be – she had her tested – she says the power isn’t hers and Taylor touches her stomach. She says she wants to see Francis. Erica says it’s not a good time and Taylor pulls a gun on her and says she won’t be on her back burner anymore.
Luke marches Phoebe and Quentin into the woods. Phoebe says he won’t use the gun and Luke says she doesn’t know him. Quentin tells Phoebe to stop it. Phoebe runs off and when he tries to shoot her, Q knocks him down.
He drops the gun and Q gets it. Phoebe stops and tries to undo her bonds. She gets them and takes out her power blocker then starts to churn darkness. Q runs up to Luke with the gun. He holds it on him then hands it to him.
Luke says if he does this, he can’t go back to his sister. Quentin says – that’s not my sister. Ren heads inside the center and looks around. A woman greets him and scans his arm then says just a moment. He sits down by Emily and says hello.
He asks if she’s okay and she says fine. He says she doesn’t look it. She says someone she cares about is making a terrible mistake. Her name is called and they give her a watch. Ren asks what kind of mistake and she nods at the screen and says – he trusts her.
He says he’s there to help the master of time and space – and Emily says she’s dating him. Ren smiles. Tommy’s mom is escorted out. He freezes time and then unfreezes her. He hugs her and she says you can’t trust Erica. He says he knows now.
He tells her that she has to see this. He touches her and takes her to the distant future and shows her Gateway. He says the prophecy is wrong, we don’t stop the HELE. She says this is just one timeline and his dad Hiro says there could be others.
Tommy says humanity survives no matter what. She says his great-grandmother had a vision that he could stop it. She says Hiro told her that he was capable of far more than he even realized. She says have faith and he’ll know what to do when the time comes.
Tommy takes them back to the place where he’s supposed to meet Malina. It’s eight hours until the HELE. He says he has to go find Malina and takes his mom inside then he leaves. Taylor tells her mom that her grand plan to rid the world of EVOs and now she has an EVO grandchild.
Erica tells her she has sacrificed so much to give her the life she has. She tells Taylor she did it all for her but Taylor says it’s all about her mother’s ego and need for control. Erica says she’s just a monster who only thought about herself.
We see a young Erica vomiting into a toilet. Her now-healed father comes to check on her. She says she’s all right. He asks if she told the father yet. She says no. She says he’s not a good guy so she probably won’t.
He asks if she was forced and she says no. He says whatever decision she makes, he’ll support her. Now, Taylor says she wants to see Francis now. Her mother takes them onto an elevator.
Erica takes Taylor downstairs and armed guards surround them. She asks her mother if Francis has been dead this whole time then asks why she hates her. She puts the gun to her head and asks if she’s a disappointment.
We see teen Erica calls the doctor to her house. Toddler Taylor is coughing up blood. She asks if he can help her. He gives Erica a look to let her know what he expects. He lays a hand on Taylor and heals her then says he knows it’s his daughter and says she’ll live with him.
He tells Erica she has no choice. When he goes to walk out, she stabs him in the back. Erica tells the guards to go and she tells Taylor that she is the greatest thing that ever happened to her. Taylor lowers the gun and asks what now.
Erica says they’ll start again, the two of them and the world. Taylor says this future is only possible if billions die. Erica says she made impossible choices and can live with them. She touches Taylor’s face and tells her to come with her.
Erica says the two of them and her child can start over together. Taylor says she’s being very generous as usual, but she’d rather die than live in an empty world with her. She walks past her mother and away. She gets back onto the elevator.
Erica is stunned. She starts to cry. Then she stops and gets her composure. Malina, Quentin and Luke come into the high school in Odessa. She stops by the trophy case and says it’s my mom – she looks so young. There’s a pic of Claire in her cheerleader uniform.
Luke says let’s go find your brother – I owe him an apology. They head into the crowded gym. Luke tells Malina to take off her hood. She worries Erica will find out but he says Tommy will get there faster. He tells her to get in front of something recognizable.
She stands where the school emblem is behind her, takes off her hood and starts up a small windstorm then makes the funnel set alight. Micah and Farrah go into a convenience store and find it abandoned. The TV is on and Malina appeals to Tommy.
Farrah stops Micah and says – my God, it’s her. Malina tells Tommy to hurry. Farrah says she hopes he can see it. Micah says he can make the transmission loose, clear it up and send it out to anyplace that gets a signal.
Tommy meets his mom and says she’s not in Missouri. He wants to go back in time and look for Malina but his mom says Hiro said not to do that. The message of Malina at the school pops up onto his mom’s phone. He sees it pops out of the room.
Erica goes to the lab and Richard says Otomo patched up the Evernow prison then he shows her the video of Malina and says he sent Otomo after them. Joanne is at the school. Tommy poofs into the same hall behind her moments later.
Luke sees Joanne and says we have to move now. Tommy looks around for Malina. Otomo is there and captures Tommy digitally. Joanne fires at Malina – Quentin knocks her out of the way and Luke’s powers charge up and he tells Joanne not to do this.
Farrah, Carlos and Micah are there and Farrah runs in. Joanne tells him this is all she has and she shoots Malina – Luke vaporizes Joanne into a pile of ash. Quentin check son Malina – Farrah was in front of her invisible and took the bullets for her.
Luke tells Carlos to get her to a hospital and says he’ll take care of Malina. Emily takes Ren into a less populated and he says it’s Evernow level 10 – he says Otomo must have designed the building and Evernow.
He says they need to get onto an elevator. They press the button but it doesn’t move. There’s the symbol on a button that matches the one Otomo gave Ren. He slides it in and the button moves. It’s now three hours to the HELE.
Matt calls Janice and says he found a way to save them all. He skids off the road when a powerline goes down. The car crashes and the two cases with the other watches in them smash to bits. The car goes down into a creek after rolling down the hill.
His watch is broken and he’s in pain. He sees the two watch cases for his wife and son flow down the creek. He screams for help. Then he starts laughing madly as he sobs. Otomo tells Erica he’s done all she asked and she needs to honor the agreement.
She says as soon as they are back online. She tells him not to be ashamed of the scars they bear for their children. We see her standing over the body of her baby daddy. Someone knocks at the door. The man tells her the company he works for told him she had a problem with a doctor.
He sees the blood on her hand and says she took care of it – then he says he can make her forget this unpleasantness. She says she doesn’t want to forget but asks him to help her daughter. It’s the memory eraser guy who uses the pennies!
Ren and Emily sneak down to the lab and Erica asks Otomo if things are in order. He says he imprisoned the master of time and space and they are ready to put him online. Emily and Ren overhear then see Richard stab Otomo in the neck.
Richard says he’s ready. He turns on the program and we see Tommy trapped in a box screaming for help. He’s trapped in a digital prison. The last words are to be continued…
