Kanye West Hospitalized After Police Called: Handcuffed During Trip To Emergency

Kanye West has been hospitalized for a psychological disturbance after exhibiting erratic behavior and is under observation at a Los Angeles-area hospital. The news comes after the ‘Famous’ rapper canceled the remainder of his Saint Pablo tour dates.

Sources close to Kanye West say that he was being evaluated for erratic behavior and possible sleep deprivation by one of his doctors when it was determined that he needed to be admitted for further medical treatment. The Los Angeles police responded to a medical welfare call after the decision was made that Kanye West had to be hospitalized for his own health and safety. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ that Kanye was restrained by handcuffs to a gurney during transport to the hospital as is apparently standard procedure for emergencies of this sort.

Kanye West raised eyebrows just last week when he told concertgoers during a tour stop in Sacramento, California that his former pal Jay-Z pulled the plug on their professional relationship and friendship. He also criticized Jay-Z’s wife Beyonce during his rant and even alleged that his former friend had ‘killers.’
Kanye said, “I’ve been sent here to give y’all the truth. Jay Z, call me, bruh! You still ain’t call me! Jay Z, call me! Jay Z, I know you got killers, please don’t send them at my head. Just call me! Talk to me like a man!”

During his on-stage rant, he also slammed Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and radio stations for not giving more air time to his industry friends like Frank Ocean and Kid Cudi. He then abruptly walked off his stage after only performing three of his songs.

After his Sacramento show, Kanye canceled his scheduled stop in Los Angeles hours before show time. On Monday he then canceled the remainder of his tour dates which would have included shows in Orlando, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C. and Boston.

Sources close to the rapper have denied reports that he is having a mental breakdown, citing sleep deprivation and exhaustion instead. Even though fans quickly took to their social media accounts to slam the rapper for canceling his tour, his reps have confirmed that concert tickets will be fully refunded.

So far Kanye’s wife Kim Kardashian has not made any public comments about her husband’s hospitalization. The reality television star was scheduled to attend the Angel Ball in New York City but reports indicate that she was a no-show. It was supposed to be Kim’s first public appearance after she was reportedly held at gunpoint during a robbery that took place at her Paris apartment back in September.
