Kate Middleton Celebrates 100 Years Of UK Scouting: First Royal Engagement After Missing Annual EACH Gala Dinner

Kate Middleton will help Scouts celebrate 100 Years of UK Scouting on December 14. This is the first Royal Engagement the Duchess of Cambridge has scheduled since abruptly cancelling an appearance at the annual EACH Gala Dinner.

Kensington Palace made the announcement that Kate Middleton will join Kings Lynn District Pack Wednesday, December 14 for a special Cubs 100 meeting. Kate has included scouting events on her Royal schedule of appearances in the past. In December 2014, the Duchess of Cambridge visited with a newly-formed Scout group.

Spending time with the Beaver group that evening, Kate learned the Scout Promise in sign language with youngsters ages 6, 7 and 8.

The future Queen was partnered with a young boy for a baking event. The two laughed their way through frosting a cake blindfolded and cutting up chocolate while wearing boxing gloves. At the time, Kate was pregnant with the Cambridge’s second baby, Princess Charlotte.

Kate did send along a note ahead of the charity dinner. EACH Vice President Sir Martyn Lewis was tasked with the honor or reading the note to the guest at the EACH Gala Dinner which was then posted to the charity’s Twitter.

The note, in part: “Thank you all so much for supporting EACH, a wonderful organisation of which I am incredibly proud to be Patron.” There was no explanation whatsoever of why Kate was unable to attend this enormously important night. Many children and families must have been very disappointed that Kate was not on hand to celebrate.

There has been much speculation as to why Kate Middleton ducked out of the annual EACH Gala Dinner at the last moment. Many are wondering if Kate is pregnant with the Cambridge’s third child. Severe hyperemesis gravidarum may have Kate home from the EACH gala dinner if she is indeed pregnant.
