Is it Queen Elizabeth’s turn to be comforted by Kate Middleton? A preview of the new mini-series “The Crown” has been released. Though the clip is only five minutes long but it has already caused further embarrassment to the entire Royal Family.
As if the Royal Family didn’t need more scandal! There is no insinuation about it – “The Crown” reveals that Princess Elizabeth had her regal eyes set upon marrying Prince Philip. However the young naval officer had no desire to marry the future Queen Elizabeth and has a history of extra-marital affairs.
In the video preview of the series Prince Philip is told that people such as he do not get to choose who they marry. Perhaps that is why Prince Philip pushed Prince Charles into a marriage of convenience with Princess Diana?
Insiders may have known about the resentment the Duke of Edinburgh harbored for years. Others not so close to the Royals probably aren’t aware of the animosity Prince Philip felt – and may still feel – towards Queen Elizabeth. This secret will be exposed in “The Crown.”
Prince Philip apparently felt completely emasculated by his limited position within the Royal family. “The Crown” creates whispers that Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip’s marriage has been an utter sham.
Neither the Duchess of Cambridge nor Queen Elizabeth will ever admit manipulating and scheming their way into a marriage, but it seems Queen Elizabeth and the Kate Middleton have more in common than Royal watchers realize.
Daughter-in-law Camilla Parker-Bowles probably isn’t going to be the one Queen Elizabeth will turn to when the streaming service delivers “The Crown” to subscribers sometime in 2016. Queen Elizabeth and Kate Middleton haven’t had the warmest of relationships.
This latest exposé of the Royal Family may be something over which Queen Elizabeth and the future Queen Kate are able to bond. Queen Elizabeth may be closer to daughter Princess Anne and Prince Edward’s wife Sophie Wessex. However, neither can understand the scrutiny put upon the future Queen.
At the very least “The Crown” will give the Duchess of Cambridge a good, long hard look at what the future holds when Prince William is crowned King. Becoming Queen may not be something Kate Middleton will wish to rush into once “The Crown” is released.
