Kate Middleton has been blasted by Greece’s Princess Maria-Olympia. The 20-year-old Greek royal has slammed Kate Middleton by suggesting that she’s “younger and more experimental” than the Duchess of Cambridge.
In a new interview with Vanity Fair, Princess Maria-Olympia describes herself as a millennial royal who is more in tune and familiar with style and fashion than Kate Middleton, who she hints is more outdated and out-of-touch when it comes to this season’s hottest trends.
Princess Maria-Olympia tells the publication, “I admire Kate’s sense of style but I’m younger and much more experimental in my choices. I love what comes out of street style from Paris to Milan to NYC. My style has definitely changed [since] moving to New York. Maybe social media has made me more aware of my style, so I’m constantly experimenting.”
Unlike Kate Middleton, Princess Maria-Olympia is more aware of trends thanks to her social media involvement and, of course, living in the world’s fashion capital, New York City. Yet, even though Princess Maria-Olympia’s Instagram account is full of couture trophy labels like Valentino and Chanel, it’s Kate Middleton’s style that has caused heads to turn and make headlines ever since she married Prince William and became the Duchess of Cambridge.
Princess Maria-Olympia might be more hip according to herself, but the young Greek royal is virtually unknown when compared to Kate Middleton. Unlike Princess Maria-Olympia, who lives in New York City, Kate Middleton lives like a true royal in Kensington Palace with the possibility of becoming the future Queen of England.
Unless Princess Maria-Olympia’s comments were made out of spite, most critics would agree that the 20-year-old Instagram fashionista can’t hold a candle to the duchess, despite her “younger and more experimental” approach to style. If Princess Maria-Olympia’s efforts in throwing shade at Kate Middleton is the only way she can garner any attention in the celebrity world, then she still has a long road ahead of her before even coming close to the Duchess and her legitimate royal status in the fashion world.
