Kate Middleton Furious: Queen Elizabeth Bans Joanne Froggatt 'Downton Abbey' Sex Joke – Will Not Air On British Television

Kate Middleton is furious at a cast member of “Downton Abby”? Did Queen Elizabeth ban the release of an interview with an unintentional sex joke made by Joanne Froggatt from airing in Britain?

We’re not really certain why everyone is making such a big deal out of the story Froggatt told on Conan O’Brien’s late night talk show recently. And get this! It wasn’t even Queen Elizabeth who made the call that the video wouldn’t be released. The video of O’Brien interviewing Froggatt has aired everywhere in the world.

What happened? Basically the cast of “Downton Abbey” found out the Duchess of Cambridge was coming for a visit – a pop in, spur of the moment kind of thing. Word got around fast and even those not filming that day showed up. Everyone was terribly excited that Duchess Kate was stopping by.

The Duchess of Cambridge’s security detail showed up with bomb sniffing dogs before Duchess Kate actually arrived. That may have been why everyone had advance notice of the surprise, don’t you think? “It felt like a huge event,” Joanne recounted to Conan.

Joanne Froggatt – Anna Bates – and Michelle Dockery- Lady Mary Crawley – were filming in Lady Mary’s bedroom when Kate Middleton arrived. Joanne recounted that she and Michelle finished filming the scene as the Duchess of Cambridge looked on. Froggatt revealed having Kate Middleton in such close proximity was extremely nerve-wracking and it made the actress quite nervous and jittery.

The filming ended and the Duchess of Cambridge came over to say hello to Joanne and Michelle. After pleasantries were exchanged and the Duchess told the actresses’ it felt strange to be in Lady Mary’s bedroom. To which Froggatt said she replied, “Yes, not very many people get to come in Lady Mary’s bedroom.” See, it was purely unintentional!

Froggatt immediately realized the comment could be taken as a sexual reference. Not sure what to do, Joanne Froggatt decided the best thing to do was to say nothing further. Kate Middleton was quite gracious the actress told Conan O’Brien. Isn’t it obvious the remark was completely unintentional? Why not allow the clip from the late night talk show to be seen in Britain?
