Sophie, Countess of Wessex attended the Everyday Heroes Awards ceremony recently and the 51-year-old countess looked amazing, a decade younger. She wore an off-the shoulder black lace dress designed by Stella McCartney that had many comparing her style to that of the late Princess Diana.
No matter what Kate Middleton does, it’s very rare that anyone says Kate’s fashion sense even remotely matches that of Diana’s. In fact, most say Kate’s sense of style is the exact opposite of the late Princess Diana’s. Of course, Kate and the Kensington Palace PR machine will say Kate is forging her own style. So far, that style has ranged from frumpy and dumpy, hideous and disastrous, to common and boring.
Stepping out in the Stella McCartney design, Royal watchers were reminded of Princess Diana’s above the knee post-divorce black dress. It wasn’t exactly the same, but it was reminiscent of one of Diana’s most daring fashion choice.
The short off the shoulder dress Sophie wore was quite daring for a Royal wife. The words ‘glamorous’ and ‘sizzling’ were used by several publications to describe Sophie Wessex as she walked the red carpet at the Everyday Heroes Awards.
To add insult to injury, Sophie has slimmed down, but to a healthy weight – not to the stick thin figure Kate Middleton seems to enjoy. At 34 years old, the Duchess of Cambridge looks older than 51-year-old Sophie Wessex. There were a few whispers that Sophie may have had a nip here and a tuck there, perhaps a bit of Botox and fillers around her eyes and mouth. Even if Sophie did use the services of a plastic surgeon, it wouldn’t be anything Kate Middleton hasn’t already done.
Kate Middleton needs to step up her fashion game and follow Sophie’s example. The Duchess of Cambridge also needs to call Sophie Wessex up and ask for the name of her plastic surgeon. The bags, wrinkles, and dark circles under Kate’s eyes keep coming back – her plastic surgeon obviously isn’t doing a very good job.
Prince Edward and his wife have lived life outside the spotlight, preferring to keep quiet and perform their Royal duties without too much attention. But Sophie seems to be enjoying the public attention more and more these days, giving Kate a run for her money.
