Kate Middleton and Prince William might be British royalty, but they are clearly acting like Hollywood snobs. There’s a new report that says the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are bringing a personal entourage of 12 assistants with them on their upcoming tour of Canada.
There’s no doubt that Kate Middleton and Prince William are going to need the extra help as it will be their first overseas trip with both of their children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte. But according to the Mirror, the royal couple is demanding twelve assistants for the trip, including three private secretaries, four press secretaries, a tour secretary, a personal assistant and an operations manager.
With all of their demands, one would think that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have some serious business to get done during their tour of Canada. And while they do have 30 engagements on their week-long itinerary, most include visiting a rain forest, experiencing a float plane, riding a canoe and fishing in the Canadian wilderness.
Yet, Kate Middleton and Prince William love to be treated as though they are Hollywood stars. After all, they are one of the most photographed couples in the world and every move they make stir headlines the next day. For Kate especially, she knows that she has enough leverage in her marriage with Prince William to make diva and even expect her diva demands.
Without Kate Middleton by his side, no one would even pay attention to Prince William, as he doesn’t have enough star presence to demand maximum press coverage on his own. Kate knows this and that’s why she’s expecting a team of assistants to serve her hand and foot while they are in Canada.
Of course, there will also be Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s nanny Mario Borrallo and Kate’s stylist and hairdresser Amanda Cook Tucker. The last time the royals visited Canada they only had seven staff members join them. This time around, Kate and William are definitely expecting more help, especially with their children joining them.
Of course, it wouldn’t be surprising if their royal entourage team doubled in size during their next trip to America, especially since Kate knows that all of Hollywood will be watching. There’s no doubt that the Duchess would swap life in Kensington Palace for the lights and glamour of L.A. in a heartbeat. At the end of the day, there’s no denying that image-obsessed Kate Middleton wants to be a celebrity more than she wants to be the Prince William’s wife.
