Kate Middleton Skips Prince William’s Diana Award Stand Up To Bullying Day Speech Recording

Kate Middleton Skips Prince William's Diana Award Stand Up To Bullying Day Speech Recording

Prince William recorded a message that began the first ever national Diana Award Stand Up to Bullying campaign. Kate Middleton skipped the speech given by William which is odd since putting an end to bullying has supposedly been Kate’s passion since marrying William.

Kate Middleton has recorded a speech or two of her own, most notably for Place2Be without William present. As of late though, the Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Prince Harry have been a trio of young Royals speaking out against bullying. Most recently all three spoke at the Heads Together Mental Health event.

Why didn’t Kate Middleton join Prince William and record a joint video message for the Diana Award Stand Up to Bullying Day? Mental health and bullying have been two subjects that Kate and William have focused on together.

Did William deliver the message alone because it involves the Diana Award? It’s possible the future King wanted to focus more on the message rather than what Kate was wearing or how she styled her hair or what jewelry was worn.

There may be other reasons Kate did not participate in a joint message with Prince William. Kate isn’t the best of public speakers despite being a member of the Royal family for five years. The Duchess of Cambridge may have tried to be involved but Buckingham Palace may have squashed her part.

There is a very important message to be heard in Prince William’s recorded speech. The Duke of Cambridge reminded people, “Bullying is not just confined to the playground or classroom and it does not only affect children and young people. It exists all around us, in peoples’ homes, in their workplaces and in their wider communities.”

What exactly is the Diana Award? It’s a living legacy to Princess Diana’s belief that young people the power to change the word. In honor of Stand Up to Bulling Day the Diana Award posted several videos of people of all ages with signs that say #StandUptoBullying and each person is standing up and then sitting down.

Perhaps Kate Middleton will be able to record a video message for the Stand Up to Bullying campaign in the near future. Whether it is joint message with Prince William or one of her own, Kate needs to get back into championing mental health and anti-bullying awareness. Check out CDL for more hot Royal news!
