Kris Jenner was booed off stage at the iHeart Radio Concert, does this mean fans hate the momager? Introduced as the “Momager of the Century” for leading her children into show business and as star of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Kris Jenner sauntered on the stage at Forum, Los Angeles on Saturday, February 20.
She proudly began her well rehearsed lines, introducing the 80s star Boy George and the Culture Club. However, if Jenner had expected this to be a starlit moment, where she eloquently introduced one of her favorite performers, she immediately received a rude awakening!
The crowd erupted in deafening boos the minute Jenner began her speech. This was done with such vehemence and totality that one would think they had a deep loathing for the reality TV star. The crowd at the iHeart Radio 80s Party had absolutely no interest in listening to Kris Jenner and her albeit brief reminiscences on the impact Boy George’s music and sense of fashion had on her life.
With no choice but to keep her poise over the crowd’s continued hostility, Jenner kept on talking. Nonetheless her embarrassment was palpable; her eyes got rounder and her expression even more stony with the realization that boos had spread throughout the entire concert hall.
The crowd’s animosity was so dogged they refused to stop, even with another voice over the sound system begging asking for some courtesy. Clearly they all came to see Boy George and the Culture Club perform – not to listen Kris Jenner! The audience really could not have been any clearer in their demands!
A perusal of the video and Kris Jenner’s debacle shows that, along with the audience’s total derision for her, the entire situation was further compounded by a lack of attention from those who actually abstained from the booing.
They paid the Jenner absolutely no attention. This entire evening must surely be a bitter pill to swallow Kris! Had you made a particularly tart comment to deserve this complete and utter boo storm?
Shortly after the incident, iHeart Radio tweeted “Wow. Were you surprised at the reaction for @KrisJenner tonight at #iHeart80s?” Not surprisingly, this tweet was met with no expressions of sympathy for Jenner. Instead, many took the opportunity to further jeer the Kardashian matriarch and insist Kris Jenner should not have been placed on the shows programme in the first place.
In the September 2015 finale of I Am Cait, Boy George paid tribute to Kris’ ex Caitlyn Jenner during her naming ceremony. The rest of the Jenner family was noticeably absent at the ceremony at Caitlyn’s insistence. Caitlyn Jenner was resolute about saying this was a ceremony for herself and members of her transgender fraternity.
It goes without saying that Kris Jenner’s iHeart Radio 80s concert debacle is one she would quickly like to wipe from the annals of popular memory. Unfortunately Kris, the Kardashian influence is not that far reaching!
