Leonardo DiCaprio Climate Change Documentary 'Before The Flood' - Disregards Massive Eco Footprint With Private Yachts And Jets

Leonardo DiCaprio is the celebrity world’s top environmental activist but does he practice what he preaches? That’s what critics can’t help but wonder as Leonardo DiCaprio is currently at the Toronto International Film Festival promoting a Climate Change documentary, despite leaving his own extensive eco footprint all over the world.

Leonardo DiCaprio for years has preached the importance of educating citizens about the destructive human impact on the Earth’s ecosystems. Despite his mass fortune, Leonardo DiCaprio is often seen driving an eco-friendly Toyota Prius around Hollywood and has given numerous speeches on climate change.

‘The Reverent’ actor is also the most outspoken environmental campaigner in Hollywood as well, as he’s urged world leaders at the UN to take action against climate change.

Yet, is Leonardo DiCaprio a hypocrite when it comes to his own lavish and luxurious lifestyle? According to the Daily Mail, playboy and international adventure seeker Leonardo DiCaprio uses private jets to travel from one party destination to the next and has even taken day trips to the South of France before jetting back to New York City to pick up an environmental award before flying back to Europe the next day.

Leonardo DiCaprio has also been accused of using movie studios and their private jets to do promote his latest Hollywood movies. While many critics say that traveling the world is part of his job, certainly using private jets, which produce more carbon emissions that commercial airplanes and luxurious 100-foot yachts is of extreme excess for someone who is so concerned about the planet’s future.

Certainty, someone like Leonardo DiCaprio can afford to be more eco-conscious and minimize his partying and traveling on one continent rather than flying to London, the South of France, New York City and Los Angeles to hit some of the celebrity world’s biggest parties. In fact, many critics believe that Leonardo DiCaprio produces more carbon in a month that most families do in a lifestyle.

Tell us CDL readers, do you think Leonardo DiCaprio is a hypocrite? Should Leonardo DiCaprio practice what he preaches when it comes to reducing his own eco footprint all around the world? Is DiCaprio the right person to be promoting a film about climate change despite his own jet-setting lifestyle?
