Lucifer had a re-birthday party on tonight’s episode. It seems he felt like he had gotten a second chance at life after he burned his wings and officially turned his back on the underworld. Yet, Lucifer would have liked to become this new man without anyone else around changing. So he was bit out sorts when he saw that Chloe and Dan were spending time together.

Apparently the green-eyed monster had made him believe that they were spending time together because they were actually together again. Though the truth had been slightly different. Chloe had recently become to depend on Dan because he was the only person in the police department that Chloe could still trust. And she needed his help in finding the second dirty cop.

And unfortunate their investigation into who that person could be had experience a slight road block when the other dirty cop that was supposed to be out of the pictured managed to surprise everyone by surviving. Detective Malcom had been caught by Chloe making a side deal with known criminals. But Malcom was never arrested for his crimes because he had been crucially injured right afterwards and a following investigation didn’t back up anything that Chloe had seen. So Chloe had pretended to drop her investigation into Malcom but now that he’s back he could finally answer her questions.

Like why he had been at that warehouse she found him in? However, actual police work had to come first and so Chloe took on a new case with Lucifer. And, unbeknownst to Chloe, Lucifer decided to use their case to get Chloe into therapy for what he thought was her stupid decision in wanting to take Dan back.

As it turns out their victim had been a therapist who treated men and women in open relationships. So when Chloe said that they needed an outside therapist to check out the patients’ files, Lucifer had volunteered his own Dr. Lina. Whose been treating him and who he had tried to convince earlier to treat Chloe because he swore he didn’t have a jealousy problem and just needed his partner back.

But Linda had said no to Lucifer and a judge that Lucifer slept with had eventually made sure it was Lina put on Chloe and Lucifer’s case.

So, you see, Lucifer had found a way around Linda’s. Only she spent most of her time looking through the victim’s files and only spoke to Chloe about the case. And nothing else.

In fact, Linda’s professionalism had helped changed Chloe’s mind about her. Where before she thought Linda was only going to try and sleep with Lucifer, she now realized that Linda was a lot more capable than she original thought. And that the other woman had been smart as well as honestly good at treating Lucifer. Lucifer having become a new if not better version of himself under Linda’s care.

Thus Linda and Chloe actually developed something of a friendship thanks to the case. Yet that had served mostly to upset Lucifer who felt like he was being double-teamed in the worst way. And he had tried to stop the ladies from cutting him out of the conversation.

Though they didn’t necessarily cut him out. They just spoke over him and occasionally about him. And that’s how they came to the conclusion that Lucifer had a problem with Chloe’s relationship with others. Most especially Dan. And that Lucifer might have some abandonment issues.

However, Lucifer thought he was just fine and had even gone to a group therapy session for the late Dr. Shaw in order to be around people he claimed would be better. And unfortunately he got to see that the ladies were right when they mentioned his jealousy because he ran into the killer at the group session. Who showed him what jealousy truly looked like.

The killer turned out to be a good friend of Shaw and his wife’s. So Lucifer had him admit to his inner desires and that made the fellow doctor say all he ever wanted was Shaw’s wife Sandy. Who apparently deserved better than Shaw who was cheating on her with one of his patients.

So that’s how Lucifer figured out he was talking to the killer, but also how he realized he was in fact jealous. What with both men experiencing the same kind of symptoms and irrational anger in regards to men they feel are unworthy of special women. And that these same women can’t seem to see how much better men they were in comparison.

And yet Dan wasn’t the better man. Dan was actually the second dirty cop that Chloe had been looking all this time and he was still working with Malcom. And he was blackmailed on tonight’s episode into helping Malcom in the future because Malcom had found the perfect scapegoat to pin all their crimes on.

But Lucifer did figure out that his brother had been using his therapist to spy on him so he ended his relationship with Maze seeing as she was the one person that knew to point the archangel to Linda.

THE END!
