‘Nashville’ season 5 spoilers include news that Aubrey Peeples [Layla Grant] and Will Chase [Luke Wheeler] have been fired. As the hot drama moves from ABC to CMT there is buzz that the actors have been let go due to a lack of storyline.
The news that Aubrey Peeples and Will Chase would not return for season 5 of ‘Nashville’ was first reported by TVLine. There seems to be some indication that Luke’s storyline went downhill after his engagement to Rayna Jaymes [Connie Britton] ended in season 3.
During the fourth season of ‘Nashville’ Luke Wheeler spent most of his time supporting Will Lexington [Chris Carmack] after the Wheelin’ Dealin’ recording artist after an attack by a homophobic talk-show host.
Layla Grant was light on storyline during season 4 of ‘Nashville’ as well. Layla was bound and determined to make someone pay for Jeff Fordham’s [Oliver Hudson] death by ruining Juliette Barnes’ [Hayden Panettiere] relationship with Avery Barker [Jonathan Jackson].
As fate would have it Layla’s plan didn’t work and ‘Nashville’ spoilers indicate it’s just a matter of time before Juliette and Avery’s reunite.
The rest of the cast of ‘Nashville’ is expected to return when the drama makes its return to CMT in partnership with the streaming service Hulu. A premiere date for the fifth season of ‘Nashville’ has not yet been announced.
When ABC cancelled the popular primetime drama fans were outraged. With the help of Lionsgate TV, the production company for ‘Nashville,’ viewers launched a campaign on Twitter that brought other networks to the table to discuss bringing the show back for a fifth season.
In addition to Connie Britton, Hayden Panettiere and Jonathan Jackson, other main characters expected to return are Charles Esten [Deacon Claybourne], Clare Bowen [Scarlett O’Connor], Sam Palladio [Gunnar Scott], Lennon Stella [Maddie Conrad] and Maisy Stella [Daphne Conrad].
