‘Nashville’ spoilers for Season 4 Episode 20 ‘It’s Sure Gonna Hurt’ airing Wednesday May 18 are here and the big news is there’s a HUGE guest star on the ABC show. Music legend Elton John is guesting as part of an Autumn Chase (Alicia Witt) concert.
Autumn knows a ton of famous people and Gunnar Scott (Sam Palladio) is floored when he’s told he gets to sing with his idol. That’s great news but things are not so good at Rayna Jaymes’ (Connie Britton) place. Are she and Deacon Claiborne (Charles Eston) done?
Deacon says, “I’m done being the screw up in your life.” So is it Deacon that walks away from Rayna? Will she let him go? Rayna demands to know if he’s “just going to leave again…” Deacon is the king of walking away and he’s in a really bad place right now.
Meanwhile, Scarlett O’Connor (Clare Bowen) goes to make the headphone commercial they want her to do but it looks like she has a breakdown on set. Does anyone else sense that Autumn is the hand moving things around to break Scarlett and Gunnar apart?
Autumn may have had Rolling Stone cheat Gunnar on the interview and made a few calls to get Scarlett the headphone gig to make her look like an opportunist so she can get Gunnar all to herself. Autumn is a real piece of work… Will Gunnar fall for her manipulative BS?
Looks like Autumn scored Elton John for the concert so Gunnar would get the chance to perform with one of his idols. Now that Luke Wheeler (Will Chase) has fired Kenneth, he continues to champion Will Lexington’s (Chris Carmack) cause with an appearance on “The View.”
But then Luke has a family emergency and has to take off. Was Colt Wheeler (Keean Johnson) injured in the Army or is it something else? Layla Grant (Aubrey Peeples) debuts her new album at the Bluebird. Will new BF Avery Barkley (Jonathan Jackson) be on hand?
Juliette Barnes’ (Hayden Panettiere) love life is not without bumps. Is Noah West (Derek Hough) a poor substitute for love-of-her-life Avery? Noah makes a great effort to woo Juliette, even spending time playing domestic with her and daughter Cadence much to Avery’s surprise.
Avery may be having second thoughts now that he sees Juliette with Noah – plus if he finds out that Layla set up the paparazzi, he could call it quits with her. Juliette has another Oscar event and takes Glenn Goodman (Ed Amatrudo) along plus has another talk with Maddie Conrad (Lennon Stella).
Are Deacon and Rayna done? Can Juliette move on from Avery? Will Gunnar be tempted by the shiny things Autumn offers? Will Scarlett walk away from The Exes over all the drama? Is Maddie really going to NYC with the awful Cash Gray (Jessy Schram)?
