Patti LaBelle is going all cougar with a much younger boyfriend, Eric Seats. Patti is 71 years old while Eric is just 41 years old. By any standard, that is a giant age gap. Technically, Patti LaBelle could be Eric Seats’ grandmother.
According to the Globe, Patti LaBelle has been dating the young Eric Seats for about a year and half now. The vocal powerhouse isn’t getting support from her son, Zuri Edwards, who just happens to be a year older than Eric Seats. “He’s furious she’s fallen for Eric. She’s spending all her time with him, not caring about the huge age difference or what people are whispering behind her back,” a source revealed to the magazine.
Zuri has tried to make her understand. The source continued, “But Patti isn’t listening! She doesn’t want her hot romance to rip the family apart, but if they don’t like it, too bad!”
Back in 2014, when Patti was ready to get back into the dating game, the source revealed that Patti confessed, “Age has no number! I feel 70 will be better than 20 or 30! Whoever he is, I know he’ll find me. If it feels right, I’ll know it.”
How did Eric Seats get into Patti LaBelle’s life in the first place? It turns out that he was hired as Patti’s band’s drummer several years ago. So he was already in her life, just on a much more professional level. The magazine reported that Eric left Los Angeles to live in Philadelphia, to be close to his girlfriend. The insider says, “Patti loves having him with her. She even has a big portrait of the two of them on her bedroom wall.” Oh lord have mercy! This is too much.
Could it be that Eric Seats is a slimy gold digger that is preying on the like of an older woman in hopes that he will inherit her money when she passes away? Could Eric Seats be a twisted sicko like that?
