While Prince Harry made a private visit to Disney World, Kate Middleton grounded Prince William and forced him to stay at home. Prince Harry repeated the Splash Mountain ride he took with Princess Diana nearly 22 years ago. Prince William was back in Britain attending to Royal duties at Oxford College.
It appears as if the Duke of Cambridge has been grounded and forced to remain at home with Kate Middleton.
After making such a fuss over Prince William and Kate recreating the iconic Princess Diana pose outside the Taj Mahal you would think someone would think to send William to Orlando with Harry even for just a day or two so that the brothers could literally take a ride down memory lane on Splash Mountain together.
Royal visits are planned weeks, if not months, in advance. The Royal appointment setters knew Harry was headed to Orlando for the Invictis Games. The ginger-haired prince reminisced about that trip to Disney World with Robin Roberts of Good Morning America calling it one of his happiest memories of Diana.
This was obviously something very important to Prince Harry.
Which brings us back to the question, why wasn’t William in Orlando with Harry, even for just a day or two? How difficult would it have been to let the brothers enjoy a few private moments remembering Princess Diana and that special trip to Disney World?
But no, William headed to Oxford to officially open the Blavatnik School of Government. The second-in-line to the throne also visited the Bodleian Libraries which contain inspiring collections that facilitates world class research at the University at Oxford.
While opening the new Weston Library at the Bodleian Libraries Prince William learned how his great-grandfather King George VI broke the key in the lock during the library’s opening ceremony in 1946. William’s day included lots of libraries. He officially opened the Longwell Library at Magdalen College, Oxford.
Prince William has a full calendar of events keeping him close to Kate Middleton this week. William is scheduled to attend the launch of emergency services and transport industry coalition on preventing male suicide on Thursday, May 12.
The Duke of Cambridge will then visit Passage Charity to witness how they are transforming the lives of homeless people. On May 17 Prince William will attend the official opening of the Ralph Lauren Centre for Breast Cancer Research.
Kate Middleton has another Royal visit on her calendar in the coming weeks also. The Duchess of Cambridge will visit Land Rover BAR on May 20 to see the 1851 Trust inspire the next generation in through sailing and the marine industry.
