#Supernatural starts at a wrestling match in Brimson, Missouri. The two wrestlers talk to each other – one is drunk and they are working out the orchestrated end to the fight. One loops a noose around the other then punches the referee. He chokes the other guy but he’s drunk so he goes too far.

Harley is furious at the other guy’s drunken antics and tells another wrestler to keep a leash on him so he doesn’t get hurt. The lights go out as the drunk packs his gym bag and swigs from his flask. A noose is placed around his neck and he’s strangled.

Back at the bunker, Sam is dealing with a hangover and Dean asks if he remembers Top Notch wrestling that their dad took them to as kids. He says the Hangman, their dad’s favorite, died. Lucifer has his minions looking for another hand of God and tells them “always be closing.”

He tells them to look high, low, far, hide and search henhouse, outhouse and farmhouse – first he was quoting Glengarry Glenn Ross then The Fugitive. Crowley scrubs the floor and Lucifer hassles him then takes the toothbrush and tells him to use his tongue.

The other hell minions watch eagerly as their former boss starts licking the floor. Dean and Sam come to the funeral home and they spot The Scream, Wrecking Ball, The Brooklyn Beast and they wonder why they’re all so old and broken looking.

Dean points out Gunnar Lawless and Sam calls him a groupie. Dean wants to go say hi. Dean greets Lawless and fanboys out on him then says he thinks he was robbed of the title. Lawless agrees that he was. Sam spots Rio, the woman who used to manage Super Bob Sanchez.

Sam tells her she looks great then acts all awkward. He says she was his first crush. She asks if he had her poster above his bed. He says no then looks away. She says she calls matches and mostly books stuff now and doesn’t manage anyone anymore.

She says they are like family and spent a lot of time on the road and says too many of them put in the dirty. She says Hangman was a good guy and she knew him for 25 years. She says she can’t believe he killed himself. Sam is shocked since the obituary didn’t indicate that.

Sam and Dean go stand at his coffin and they discuss the suicide. They decide to go to the memorial show since the world will still be screwed tomorrow. Rio introduces the match and Sam says he remembers these as being grander – Dean says drink more.

Rio smiles at them. Dean sees Sam looking at her and calls his brother a dog then says didn’t you have a poster of her above your bed. Sam says they only make $25 for this and Dean says it doesn’t seem worth it. He says no money, no glory – it doesn’t make sense.

Sam says that describes their jobs too. A guy and his son sit behind them to watch. The dad says cheap beer, kid entertained – good parenting. Sam says that takes him back and Dean says shut up, that’s the best thing dad did for them.

Lawless is in the locker room and a guy brings him something. He takes it and walks off. Rio calls out Lawless and Dean stands and cheers. Dean tells Sam to get up and show respect. Dean is excited and wants to win the glove he gives out. The kid behind them gets it and Sam says next time.

Dean plays it off and says he’s not a child. The match starts. Lawless is thrown out of the ring and Dean cheers him. Lawless winks. The other guy hits him with a chair and throws him back in the ring. The crows cheers Go Go Go.

Lawless smashes the other guy into the corner then clotheslines him. They scream up and over and he slams the guy down. The count goes off and Lawless wins it. The dad behind them says he has to go pee and tells the kid to be good.

There’s a line at the men’s room and he staggers out back to pee. He takes a whizz on the back of the wrestling van and then hears a rustling sound. He’s run through with a blade and blood splatters everywhere.

The kid is taken away later by the cops and Sam tells Dean that the body was marked and shows him a pic. Dean says it looks like a tickle fight with Edward Scissorhands. Sam thinks it’s a case and they wonder if it’s a witch.

Dean says he’ll stay there while Sam goes and does some research. Dean goes back inside and calls out to see who’s there. He says he’s FBI and has questions. He hears cheering in his mind and hops into the ring.

He rolls into it and bounces off the ropes like an excited child. He leaps off the ropes and acts like a moron. Rio catches him and says nice moves. He falls out of the ring and is embarrassed. He flashes his badge.

She asks wasn’t he at the wake. She says she sold the guy tickets but didn’t know him. Rio says maybe they’re cursed and says the first stop the maintenance guy find a body and Dean asks for a list of the crew including roadies.

She says they use locals and only travels her boys. She says look at the nearest bar and says that’s where they’ll all be. One of the minions comes to let Castiel out but he says he can’t leave. She says people want Lucifer gone and want him back.

She says he’s not a slave or a dog. She says you’re Crowley and the devil should be afraid of you. Dean comes to the local pool hall and finds the wrestlers spread around. Lawless is at the bar and Dean sits beside him. He hands Dean a shot and asks if he enjoyed the show.

He says it was great then after not so much. Lawless says he heard and it’s a shame. Lawless shows him a scar from when a drunk with a beer bottle. Dean shows him a horrid scar on his leg. Lawless says some of his fingers won’t move because a giant guy fell on him.

They toast to their injuries. Sam calls and says there’s a death on every stop of the tour with markings and says the symbol is ancient Sumerian and it can pluck the spark of life. They wonder if it’s a demon since souls may be involved.

Since they use locals, they speculate it may be a wrestler. Harley boozes hard and Lawless tries to talk to him and he says screw off. Harley goes off at him about Fort Worth for kicking him off the card. Harley says he can’t stand the idea of him stealing his thunder.

Lawless calls him kid and says he has no worries. Harley punches Lawless then calls him old man and tells Rio that the guy’s a junkie. Rio tells him to sleep it off and tells Lawless they’ll talk tomorrow. Dean helps Lawless up and asks why he didn’t fight back.

Lawless says he has nothing to prove. Dean pours something into his shot glass when he’s not looking. They toast and drink. Lawless kills the shot and is fine. Dean says they need more shots. Crowley is making his escape then kills two younger stronger demons.

His partner in escape asks how he did that and he says he’s Crowley. Sam finds a passed out Dean at the bar and he groans and sits up. Sam asks if he’s okay. Dean farts and wakes up. He says it was tequila with holy water.

He says he bought drinks for all the wrestlers. He says his liver is screaming at him. Dean says he got all except Harley before he could get to him. Sam says let’s go find him. Dean passes back out and Sam yells at him so he staggers up and out.

They go knock on Harley’s hotel room door. No answer so they break in and find chaos and the room is a mess. Crowley is in his black outfit with the woman and she calls him Lord. He tells her they need to go find the ace up his sleeve.

Sam finds security cam footage and they see Harley heading to his room and then a van parked there and an unconscious Harley loaded into it. It’s Lawless that took him. The wonder how that happened. Harley wakes tied to a chair with a bloody face.

He freaks out. He yells for help. Lawless is there and Harley says he knows he was a dick. He says sorry he took a cheap shot at him. He asks him not to hurt him but Lawless says it’s not his call. The guy is there that Harley thought was his dealer. He’s the demon. He flashes red eyes.

Sam and Dean figure out where the van went to. The demon asks Harley what he wants and the guy says no more crappy motels and he can have the life he wants. He says all he needs in return is his soul and service.

The guy says he might occasionally ask for a little favor like killing someone. Harley asks why me and the demon says he likes him and needs new franchisees. He says Gunnar Lawless is one of his satisfied customers. He asks Harley if they have a deal.

Harley says no. Harley says he’s not much for God and thought when you died, it was over. He says if he’s a demon that means there is heaven and hell and he won’t pass up his shot at that. The demon comes at him with a knife and says the human body is fragile.

He says one injury, one wrong step like your Achiless tendon. Lawless calls the demon Duke and tells him no but he slices Harley’s tendon anyway. He tells Lawless it’s his turn and says do it. Crowley takes Simmons, the woman, with him to his warehouse.

She asks why they’re there. He says it’s the rod of Aron. He says it’s powerful and she asks if it’s a hand of God. She asks if she can touch it and Crowley says she can’t handle his rod. Then Lucifer is there and says it’s getting phallic in there. Crowley looks surprised.

Lawless carves up Harley. Sam and Dean come in and Duke knocks them back with power. He says it’s a fun surprise. Lucifer asks Crowley if he thought he could double cross him then says he’s the one who literally invented the double cross.

He says Simmons is lovely and talented and says she hates you BTWs. Simmons says she really does and Lucifer says every demon in hell hates him. Lucifer says maybe once Crowley was the most evil but now he’s just Dean Winchester’s top fan.

Duke says he’s heard about Sam and Dean and thought they would be more. Dean says sorry to disappoint. Duke says he wanted and LA 10 but they’re a Kansas 5. Sam tells him to stop the small talk and Duke tells Lawless to kill them.

He goes after Sean and throws him across the room then punches him hard. Lucifer says he saw a last spark of defiance in Crowley’s eyes and decided not to beat it out of him but let him lead him there. Lucifer sighs and touches the box.

He says he’s going to take this and then him. He tells Crowley he’s a puppy that won’t like what happens next. Lucifer moves the box then opens it. Nothing is inside. It’s in Crowley’s hand. He uses it to throw Lucifer across the room.

Crowley says he may have invented the double cross, but he perfected it – literally. The staff glows and power surges through Crowley. He says this is what it feels like to be God then says it’s tingly. He says if this can hurt the Darkness, what can it do to Lucifer?

He goes to strike down Lucifer but Simmons jumps in front of him and takes the blow but Lucifer is still knocked back. Lawless tells Dean he doesn’t want to do this and Dean says he understands all about demons. He asks if he sold his soul.

Lawless says 10 years ago he wanted another shot at the belt then says he was desperate and dumb. Dean says you only get the title for like a weak and Lawless repeats desperate and dumb. Dean says it’s never too late to do the right thing.

Lawless asks if he really believes that and says he has to. Crowley goes to strike Lucifer down and there’s no power there. Lucifer stands and brushes himself off. There’s blood on the back of his head and he’s angry.

He tells Crowley he’s out of juice then punches him hard. Crowley goes flying. He curses. When Lucifer comes over, Crowley is gone. Sam asks Duke if Crowley knows he’s doing this but Duke says Crowley is Lucifer’s bitch so it’s every demon for himself.

Duke says he offered Lawless a choice when his time was up – collect souls or go to hell. Dean staggers into the room and Duke says this is favorite part. Then Lawless is there and stabs him with a demon blade, killing Duke.

Lawless hears howling and Dean says it must be hell hounds. Lawless says he always wondered what they sounded like. Dean offers him a gun but Lawless says he hates the face looking back at him now and says he’s got this coming.

The doors rattle and he tells them to get out. He gives them back the demon blade and they go. The dogs bust down the door. Lawless stands ready as they come for him. Dean tells Sam that Lawless was a good guy but Sam says he made a bad decision and they’ve been there.

Sam says they’ll get Cass back and Dean says keep grinding no matter how much it hurts. He tells Sam that’s how they’ll win, save Cass, ice the devil and shank the Darkness. He says God help anyone who gets in our way. Sam agrees.

THE END!
