Tonight, one castaway goes to great heights to retrieve a hidden immunity idol; two players on the beauty tribe become fast friends
On the last episode, castaways embarked on the most grueling 39 days in Survivor history and test whether brute strength, looks or smarts were the attribute that helped capture the title of Sole Survivor. On tonight’s episode as per the CBS synopsis, “one castaway goes to great heights to retrieve an idol, and on the beauty tribe, two castaways become quick friends. Also, immunity and rewards are on the line at a taxing physical challenge.”

#Survivor begins with the brawn tribe back from Tribal Council and Alecia saying she’s still not sure they’re plotting against her. She thinks they were going to vote her out and just changed their minds at the last minute. They try to start a fire and Jennifer admits they did talk it over.
Tai goes back looking for the idol again. He’s still rooting through tree and gets attacked by red ants all over. Then he spots it in a tree and grabs it and laughs gleefully. It’s a clue that says it’s buried at the foot of the tree. There is a box and he has to get the key to open the box.
Now he realizes he has to do more work and doesn’t have the time right now. He is told he needs a tool and it’s up high. He climbs up the tree in desperation. His feet are now bleeding – it’s awful. He can’t get it because he’s taking too long. He bangs his head in frustration.
Over at brains, they are happy to have kerosene and start a major fire. Peter thinks Debbie is an annoying cat person. #MEOW Debbie decides to drink the water without boiling or treating it. She says she can judge water by looking at it (OMG really?)
Debbie blathers on about all her personal trainer experience, excellent immune system, and how she grew up with cattle. The rest of the tribe is annoyed. Later, Debbie juggles and the others are just aggravated by her. She continues to follow Peter around talking about how great she is.
Peter thinks that she’s really annoying but that means she’s good to keep around to make his game more solid. Over at Beauty, they break into some cane sugar and Tai says Caleb has the appetite of a child. Tai says it’s a compliment.
Tai hopes his charm and personality will win them over and then he reveals he’s gay. Caleb says he’s not the average country guy that he’s used to and says Tai asked to cuddle him to keep warm. Caleb says he’s no homophobe and told him to go ahead and cuddle.
Julia says Caleb and tie are so different. She talks about how Tai doesn’t want Caleb to kill a bee. Michele says they seem to get each other despite their differences. Tai has them eating raw fish. Michele says their bromance is real.
Tai tries to get a #STOLENKISS from Caleb and says he wanted to shock him. Caleb says next time just ask. Over at brains, they realize their kerosene leaked out. Neal is upset that Joe let it tip on its side and most of it ran out.
Debbie goes to talk to Joe and he talks about his survival skills from the military and being a federal agent. Joe finds out the matches are also wet. Liz is upset since they can’t boil water. She says Joe wasted the kerosene and ruined their matches.
Joe thinks Liz is being a pain in the butt know it all. Liz says they need fire to kill the pathogens in the water and Joe says pathogens my butt. He says all Liz has is book knowledge. Liz says she’s annoyed that Joe doesn’t appreciate her trying to help and she tears up.
She goes to float in the ocean to mellow out. She really wants some water and goes to hide out until the fire is going. Over at Brawn, Scot is trying to get a fire going. Jennifer says they are weaklings at this point because they have no food.
Kyle is sunburned to the point of bubbling welts but he says he’s used to the suck from serving in Afghanistan. He’s in the shade for now. Alecia decides to try to light the fire and prove why they should keep her.
Cydney and Kyle talk about her being on the bottom. Alecia tries for two hours to start a fire. Now it’s been five hours and she’s still trying. The others are sleeping while she works. She finally gets it going and the others come to join her.
Jennifer says she’s glad she got it lit to boost her self-esteem and says the fire Alecia lit has saved them. They kill and cook a chicken. They agree that now they are ready to compete.
It’s time for the #ImmunityChallenge. The other tribes sees that Darnell was sent home from Brawn. Jeff takes back the two idols and explains the challenge. They have to race down a river, get a big log, carry it through obstacles then untie a ball and knock down two targets to raise their flag.
There’s also reward. First tribe gets a massive fishing kit and boat. The second place gets a smaller kit. Julia and Debbie sit out for the other two tribes. The tribes are off running through the muddy river. Brawn is in the lead with the log.
Brains is falling behind. Brawn and Beauty are neck and neck. Debbie cheerleads crazily. Brains is way behind. Beauty pulls ahead and gets their ball. They head to the slingshot to try for the target. Brawn also has their ball. Brains is behind.
Beauty got knotted up and lost their lead and Brains is catching up. The Brawns tribe shorts and falls short. Caleb knocks one down for Beauty and they take the lead. Peter shoots for Brains and ties it up with a goal.
Brawn also gets one. They each have one left. Peter misses and Caleb shoots and takes down the last target and Beauty wins first immunity. Now it’s Brawn and Brains. Brawn misses again. Peter shoots for the win and gets it. Brawn loses immunity again and they’ll go back to Tribal.
Jeff hands immunity to Beauty and Brains. Beauty gets the massive fishing kit and Brains gets the smaller one. They head back to camp and Jeff tells Brawn someone else is going home tonight at Tribal. Back at camp, Jason and Scot talk about how strong they are. He seems sure Alecia is on the way out.
Alecia goes off to look for the immunity idol. The others are confident she won’t find it and they lay around in the shelter. Jennifer wonders about her alliance and says Jason is pissing her off. She doesn’t like his attitude and laziness and says all he does is talk about Alecia.
Jennifer talks to Alecia about blindsiding one of the guys. They talk to Cydney about a girl alliance. Alecia is hopeful she could stick around tonight. Jason tells Scot he’s worried about the girls plotting against them.
Scot goes to talk to Jennifer and says Jason is suspicious. She reassures him. Jennifer says she has poor impulse control and likes to chase shiny thing. She decides she may not want to blindside Jason because she likes Scot. Cydney tells her she’s in for a girl alliance. Cyndey thinks she’s all over the place.
#TribalCouncil starts and Jeff asks Alecia about being on the bubble last time. She says they told her she was weak but she’s been trying to pull her weight around camp. Jennifer talks about how they talked about an all girl alliance. She totally sold out the other two women.
Jason says this game turns on a dime and says you come to Tribal and things get confirmed. Jennifer says ideas were thrown around and then Scot says she told him this was certain. Jennifer says she didn’t think they would turn on her just because ideas were discussed.
Jeff says wow and Alecia says it raises a lot of questions. Jennifer then says Alecia came to her and says she proposed an all-girl alliance. Alecia says it was Jennifer trying and she lies and says it was not. Jason says this is all busting. Jennifer says vote me out and keep losing challenges.
Cydney says this is about being in the wrong place at the wrong time and saying the wrong thing. She says you have to know who’s loyal. Jennifer says if she broke trust, then vote her out. Jason says no one in this game walks up and says I’m considering flipping on your alliance.
Jeff asks if Jennifer is in a nightmare. She says it pains her that they don’t trust her. She then throws Alecia under the bus and calls her a liar. Scot says he’s been listening to Jennifer, not Alecia. Jennifer says her intentions were good.
Jennifer says she decided to give her a good last day by letting her think she wasn’t in danger and she says she wishes she could take it back. Scot says he gets this and thinks Jennifer would be better for them in the long run. Jennifer begs them to give her another chance.
She gets up and stands on the bench and says please trust the original alliance. Jeff says he’s never seen a Tribal like this. Jeff calls for the vote. Jeff comes back and calls for an immunity idol then reads the votes. They are Jenny, Alecia, Alecia, Jenny, Jenny.
Alecia is thrilled. Looks like Jenny’s blathering sent her home. Jeff says this shows how quickly things can go bad. He sends them back to camp. Jason and Cydney bot voted against Jennifer! Jennifer says she’s shocked and didn’t think it would go down this way in her post-ejection narrative.
