Taylor Swift continues to burn bridges with just about every person who crosses her path in the entertainment world these days. After her nemesis Katy Perry hinted that she would agree to a collaboration with the singer if she apologizes for their long-running feud, it looks like Taylor Swift has thrown shade her way once again.
Of course, no one knows what the real truth is behind Taylor and Katy’s long-running feud but it’s long been rumored that it all began when the ‘Dark Horse’ singer allegedly hired one of Taylor’s back-up dancers. Taylor hasn’t been able to forgive her since the incident, leading to a number of rumors about their “mean girl” fights and of course, Taylor’s hit, ‘Bad Blood,’ which was clearly about her damaged friendship with Katy.
For what it’s worth, Katy has managed to stay professional by not bringing up their drama in public. Yet, when she was recently asked by a fan if she would collaborate with Taylor on a new song, Katy replied with, “Sure, if she says sorry.”
Clearly, Taylor Swift doesn’t think she has any reason to apologize. According to Hollywood Life, the ‘Wildest Dreams’ singer made it pretty obvious that she’s not interested in a Katy Perry collaboration or her friendship.
One source close to the singer explained, “Why would Taylor want to collaborate with someone whose latest single, “Rise,” didn’t even break the Top 10? Taylor is a ten time Grammy winner. Katy has zero Grammys.”
If this is indeed true, Taylor’s mean-spirited reply to Katy further indicates that she still has a lot of growing up to do. It wouldn’t be surprising if the media began labeling Taylor as the female Justin Bieber with the amount of immaturity she’s show these last few weeks.
Not only has she tarnished her reputation with her nasty Calvin Harris and Tom Hiddleston breakups, along with her Kim Kardashian and Kanye West feuds, but she’s also digging her heels into Katy Perry by hinting that she’s not even worthy of a collaboration with her, let alone an apology. Taylor might be the chart topper with the ten Grammys, but it’s Katy who is walking away the winner here. She was willing to extend an olive branch to Taylor in an effort to put the past behind them but it might be years before Taylor realizes how her petty behavior and mean girl mentality might end up hurting her in the long run.
Of course, time will only tell if Taylor Swift and Katy Perry will ever speak to each other again, but at this point it looks doubtful. Do you agree, CDL readers?
