Teresa Giudice’s bankruptcy settlement has just gotten complicated. In fact, the ‘Real Housewives of New Jersey’ star is worried that she might end up behind bars again now that her bankruptcy case has been reopened.
Earlier this month, Teresa Giudice was off the hook when she reached a settlement in her $13.5 million dollar bankruptcy case. The case was initially settled two years ago but reopened back in May after Teresa filed a $5 million dollar malpractice lawsuit against her bankruptcy attorney.
Teresa claims that her lawyer James Kridel and his bad advice and mistakes led to her conviction and bankruptcy fraud. Teresa spent one year in jail as and her husband Joe Giudice is currently serving his 41-month sentence at a correctional facility in New Jersey as part of the couple’s staggered sentence.
Teresa Giudice managed to reach a deal with her trustee but now Kridel in her case is opposing her settlement. Kridel denies any wrongdoing, claiming that Teresa’s allegations against him are “utter absurdity.” With her bankruptcy case reopened and her husband not around to help her, sources say Teresa feels like she has her hands tied behind her back, especially since she doesn’t have her husband Joe Giudice to tell her what to do or what to say.
It’s without a doubt that Teresa Giudice was hoping that her legal problems would have been settled by now. She’s desperate to live a normal life with her family again. But with her husband in jail and her future uncertain, sources say that the reality television star is worried that her legal nightmare will get even worse now.
So far Teresa herself has not made any comments about the latest revelations. Teresa has up until this point maintained her innocence, claiming that she simply followed her husband’s lead and was unaware of all the fraud that the couple committed. But with Joe behind bars, critics know there’s no way Teresa will be able to clean up this complicated legal mess on her own.
