The Biggest Loser Recap 1/25/16: Season 17 Episode 4 "Ready? Set. Auction! - Ship Shape"

Tonight on NBC The Biggest Loser returns with an all new season 17 episode 4 which features over weight contestants competing to lose weight to win money, on Monday, January 25 called “Ready? Set. Auction!; Ship Shape” and we have your weekly recap below! On tonight’s episode, an auction is held and contestants win top-notch prizes, including a solo workout with Bob Harper. Later, one team win a day of relaxation on a yacht, which they can trade for exclusive gym access.

On the last episode, this week, contestants had to confront a temptation that people face every day — digital distractions. Dolvett’s red team and Jen’s black team navigated an obstacle course filled with digital distractions during a challenge that brought the winning team a very difficult choice. They could either reconnect with the real world and enjoy coveted video chats with their loved ones back home, or got exclusive use of the gym for an entire week.

Host Bob Harper met the contestants and trainers in the gym for a last-chance challenge that proved to be one of the most difficult yet. Did you watch last week’s episode?  We did and we have a full and detailed recap, right here for you.

On tonight’s episode as per the NBC synopsis, “Host Bob Harper hosts an auction to win some flashy and functional prizes. One lucky contestant gets a one-on-one workout with Harper himself. Coaches Jen Widerstrom and Dolvett Quince are challenged during the workouts as some of their teammates are out enjoying the luxuries they won during the temptation challenge. During the last chance challenge the teams battle out a difficult physical activity to win the one-pound advantage for the weigh in.

Ship Shape- LUXURIES ARE BACK ONCE AGAIN — The contestants have another luxury to tempt them and keep them away from their workouts. The challenge gives one team the choice of relaxing on a yacht for an entire day reading letters from loved ones or getting exclusive access to the gym. Although they all need a day of pampering the extra time in the gym could give them an edge during weigh in.”

#Biggest Loser starts with the teams on the beach to meet Bob at a tiki hut. He welcomes them and says they’re halfway through the competition and it’s been brutal. He says they could all use a massage right now since they’re tired and sore.

Bob says this week’s temptation is about luxury. He says the more you slack off, the more weight you put on and you have to find balance. He says it’s a luxury auction. They get $500 Biggest Loser bucks to bid.

He says you will bid individually not as teams. Colby says he loves auctions. They take their places and Bob offers the first item – a full spa day including massage, facial and a mani-pedi. He says if you win it, you get to take someone with you.

Lauren bids then Colby forces the price up. Felicia gets it for $40 and she says she’s taking Jacky. Bob then offers a one on one with him at his house. He says they’ll work out and hang. Jacky bids, then Erin. Jacky bumps it and gets it for $70.

Bob says this item includes four Trek bicycles worth $4000. Colby bids, Rob, Luis and then Rob gets it for $50. Bob next offers $5k of kitchen equipment. Roberto wins it. Next is a trip to the Bahamas for five nights.

Stephen bids $500 and then runs into the ocean. He’s ecstatic and says he’s taking his kids. Everyone else is still in it. Bob then says this is a one pound advantage and every week you don’t use it, it goes up by a pound.

Bob says it can be held for up to five weeks where it would be worth five pounds. Toy bids $500 and snatches it. Toy and Stephen are both now out of the game. Next is a chance to fly in a loved one for one night.

Erin wants it bad. Bob says you get to leave the ranch and get to stay at a fancy hotel. Erin bids $500 on it and snakes it. Lauren is frustrated at all the max bids that are taking prizes. Bob then brings out a mystery box.

Rob wants it and says he loves game shows. Bob says it could be anything. Colby wants it too. Colby takes it for $500. Bob opens the box and it’s immunity. Colby is thrilled and says this is a game changer. His weight will count for the team but he can’t be eliminated.

Bob says that’s it for the auction. He tells Jacky he’ll see her soon. In the gym, Dolvett is working his team hard. He doesn’t want to lose another weigh in and finds out two of his team is at the spa for the day. He’s concerned.

Jen is working her team and they’re lifting weights. Jen says she knows he has immunity and it’s best for him to take his foot off the gas but she doesn’t want him to see this as a free pass. She says she can’t let it affect the team.

Erin says she gets her date on Monday and Jen isn’t happy with how distracted she is and Erin says she’s going to burn off a lot of calories with her BF so it’s not a problem. Bob greets Jacky at his house and they head to his gym. She’s so thrilled to have him training her for a day.

After the workout, they sit and talk. Bob asks why she came on the show. She says her kids don’t know the real her. She says her mom had issues so she grew up with just her dad. She says he was great but then he died when she was 26 and says it hit her hard.

She says her dad was a runner and ran the Boston Marathon so when he died, she turned to food. She says her daughter has health struggles because of her. Bob says she lost her coach in her dad. He says that’s where it all came from. He says she didn’t have anyone in her corner.

Bob says she needs to be in her own corner. He says she can make her daughter proud. The teams are on their last chance workout and Dolvett and Jen are driving them hard. Bob comes in and announces the challenge for a one pound advantage.

Each teams picks three people. Team Dolvett chooses Stephen, Felicia and Roberto. Team Jen takes Colby, Lauren, and Erin. They have to flip giant tractor tires. They flip it and then Lauren and Stephen start stepping up and down.

Lauren is almost to her 50. She does it and then they start flipping the tire again. Stephen is done soon after. Erin starts her stepping and is ahead of Team Dolvett. They make it and Roberto starts stepping for them. Erin knows Roberto is close.

She’s ahead but he’s close. She’s only needs five to win. Roberto is close to it but Erin takes the last step and wins it by three steps. Lauren says the night with her BF must have paid off. Roberto is frustrated.

It’s weigh in time. Jen is worried about the luxury week and if it had an effect on their loss. She’s worried about Erin’s missed time in the gym but says Jacky and Felicia lost a whole day for Dolvett. She’s hoping the other team is hit harder. Bob greets them.

Bob asks them if game play comes into this decision and says Toy could be harder to beat than Vicki. Colby says yes and that’s why he voted for her. Bob says she’s still eligible for the at home prize and they all say goodbye.

Jen sees that Toy was sent home. Jen feels like it’s her fault for telling Toy not to use her advantage. Vicki says she understands the votes and how they went. Jen tells them she thinks she failed Toy. Vicki feels like she has a spot someone else wanted and has to make it really count.

The teams meet Bob at the beach. He says this week it’s about a team temptation of luxury. He says it may float their boat. He says the winners get a day on a private yacht. He says they also have letters from home on the boat.
