The Good Wife Cancelled: Julianna Margulies Killed Legal Drama With Inflated Ego, The Alicia Florrick Hour Comes To An End

The Good Wife is officially cancelled – CBS has decided to put the never-ending series out of its misery, after a steady decline in ratings over the past couple of seasons. During Super Bowl 50 a commercial for the legal drama aired and teased that “this is the final season” – there are nine episodes of the show remaining, and they will begin airing on Sunday February 14.

At its prime, The Good Wife was wildly popular – the cast was a well put-together ensemble that seemed to balance each other out, they all brought their own unique vibes to the show. However, as Celebitchy so accurately pointed out, everything went to hell when Julianna Margulies became one of the show’s producers – and The Good Wife basically became “The Alicia Show.”

Remember during the show’s glory days, when there were actually plots and storylines that had nothing to do with Julianna’s character Alicia? We get that the show is called The Good Wife – and Alicia is technically the wife, but seriously when was the last time a scene aired on the show that didn’t involve Alicia or serve as a vehicle to move along Alicia’s story.

Of course, it’s no secret that Julianna Margulies’ rise to power on set of The Good Wife went to her head and nobody could stand working with her as a consequence. Archie Panjabi is STILL throwing shade at her former co-star to this day.

Maybe CBS didn’t even have to cancel The Good Wife, maybe the entire cast and crew just walked because they had had enough of Julianna’s ego and “The Alicia Show.”

I think we can all agree that The Good Wife should have been killed off right along with Will Gardiner. They had no business trying to keep the ship a float after Will’s death.

What do you guys thinks? Are you sad to The Good Wife’s end – or are your glad CBS finally came to their senses and saved the show what little shreds of dignity it had remaining? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
