Laura’s father was back in town on tonight’s episode of “The Mysteries of Laura”. And apparently he was causing nothing but trouble. So when Laura got the chase to work a case and escape her house that now came with a freeloader, she seized it.

Although the case wasn’t exactly clean-cut. A John Doe had been pushed in front of an oncoming bus and whoever had done the deed had been quick to flee the scene. And therefore the only thing that could help the detectives in identifying the victim was unfortunately stuck underneath the bus.

So it was a while before Aiden Silverman’s family was notified. However, Laura and Jake had a job to do so they questioned his wife and asked her where she was at the time of death. And it turns out she had been seeing a moving abroad specialist.

Aiden had been a notable doctor in his field so he had been poached by FIFA to be their regular doctor and that would have required for the whole family to relocate. And that’s why his wife was seeing the specialist. She had wanted to know what to bring for her and her family seeing as they would be overseas indefinitely.

But what Aiden’s widow hadn’t known was that her ex Kurt being a troublemaker again. The widow and Kurt had been together for a couple a while back and in that time they had a son named Eli. And so it had been one young woman’s foolish hope that a baby would suddenly change everything for Kurt and that he would finally start taking responsibility for once in his life but that never happened.

Instead Kurt had basically dropped out of Eli’s life and no one heard from him until his recently filed paperwork for joint-custody.

The men’s rights group that he’s joined has been telling him all about his rights and he should stop another man from stealing his kid. And later both Billy and Jake found Kurt at one of these meetings. He had gotten up in front of the audience and had told them that karma had finally worked in his favor because now the man that his father has been calling “daddy” is gone.

So naturally the two detectives brought him in for questioning because it was thing for Kurt to celebrate Aiden’s death but quite another for him to smell like the same substance that had been found on the victim. Aiden had mark on his back and it matched the oil substance left on his coat. That looks like it came from someone kicking him in his back.

And therefore it looked like it could be slam-dunk with Kurt. Yet Kurt had an alibi for the morning of the incident. He had been miles away doing a job and his female boss could vouch for him. So it was back to square one.

Though luckily they had help. Aiden you see had another disgruntled father on his hands so Charles Baptiste had been stalking for a while and had seen who else was paying extra attention to Aiden. And it was Charles that put the detectives onto George Vascos.

George had also been following Aiden and oddly he belonged to the same Men’s Rights Group that Kurt was now a part of. So there was clearly a connection between the two men but it hadn’t made sense until George’s wife was suddenly murdered while George had an airtight alibi. And when Santiani said “Strangers On a Train”.

It was originally just a movie however it’s now known as a murder scenario. It’s when two people who are preferably not known to each other beforehand, come together in an agreement, that would each kill someone for the other. And that way Kurt wouldn’t get the blame for Aiden’s death but he would have had to kill George’s wife in return.

But, here’s the funny part, George had only claimed he killed Aiden when in actuality someone else had done it. And he had taken the credit in order to get Kurt to kill his wife. So both Kurt and George at guilty of Tracy Vascos’s murder and Aiden’s murder just happened to be a happy fluke.

And so Laura was back at the drawing board.

She wanted to know else who could have hated Aiden so bad that he would have wanted to kill him though her father gave her another idea. He reminded her about the relationship little Eli had with his maternal grandmother. Who as it happens knew where Aiden would go for his morning jog because her daughter kept a chart up on the fridge.

So Laura brought the woman and it wasn’t long before grandma confessed all. It seems her husband had alzheimer’s and that meant she could leave him in the states. But she hadn’t wanted to let go of her daughter and grandson. And apparently skype wasn’t enough for her.

Though now she has see to her family on prison visits and that is if they decide to visit.

And as for Laura’a dad, he helped Laura see that she was still in love with Jake so she broke up with her boyfriend.

THE END!
