The Strain Recap

Palmer has broken with the Master once and for all however he was fully committed to destroying the Master and so he was finally on the same page as Professor Setrakian. But he was still playing a dangerous game. Palmer had gone to see the professor to tell him about what happened with Eichorst and it was Palmer’s belief that he had injured Eichrost to the point where he’ll wither away and die.

So Palmer had told the professor that the Master would now have no other than to come after him himself for what he did. And there was no doubt in Palmer’s mind that the Master would reveal himself soon.

However, Eichorst did not wither off and die. He had been found by other strigoi and they had taken him to safety where he would be replenished. So already Palmer’s plan was falling apart and he didn’t even know it yet and so he couldn’t exactly prepare. He just went along with the plan he had put in place and unfortunately that had worked a little well.

Palmer and convo had later been attacked by strigoi soldiers and the Master did reveal himself. Only the Master had wanted to prove a point to Palmer who had tried to tell him that he was the only one that knew the code to the vault where bomb was being held.

So the Master had finally delivered on his promise. He had turned Palmer albeit against Palmer’s wishes and the Master had also taken an additional step. He had turned Palmer though he hadn’t wanted to leave the other man with any sense of will and so he had also poured his own essence into Palmer. Which made Palmer’s body the new host for the Master.

Yet, no one could have foreseen that the Master would take that step and so the professor didn’t know that the plans had suddenly changed on him. He had just told his people that there was a plan of action in place and somehow he had done the impossible as well.

The professor had managed to calm down Fet and get him to agree to work with Eph despite everything that had happened between them. Though everything that had happened had included not only betrayal in the war to kill off the Master, but also a personal backstab because Eph was now with Dutch. So Fet still found a way to fit in a few snide comments about the new couple and in the meantime he did try his best to work alongside them.

He had gathered weapons for everyone, he had toned down his personal feelings on Quinlan as well, and he had also prepared for this battle that was to be it as in the end. Where humans won and strigoi were finally out of New York.

Only that glorious plan that was supposed to solve everything was ruined and so the humans walked into a trap. They had gone to the building just as Palmer had told them to and they had thought it a little strange to find no one else there. They had thought they would see someone in the kitchens or at least monitoring the security cameras.

But they saw no one and by time Quinlan had realized that the place had already been hit – it had been too late. The professor as well as Eph had already gone up to the penthouse and they had seen who they thought was Palmer. So they were talking to him when everything went down.

Quinlan had tried to reach everyone, but he had run into some strigoi soldiers so Eph and the professor were left fighting the Master on their own after he gave up with playing them. Though thankfully Dutch had been watching everything from the cameras and so she warned Fet about what happening in the penthouse.

So Fet did go up there and all three humans were doing their best to keep the Master at bay until they could get additional help and so Dutch finally got her machine up and running. Dutch had incapacitated the strigoi soldiers that Quinlan was fighting and that ensured that Quinlan went to where the real fight was.
