The Young and the Restless’s (Y&R) spoilers say that Sharon McAvoy (Sharon Case) has only had her children and her mother as family for as long as she has been in Genoa City, rumors are swirling that all of that is about to change. Sharon’s family is about to expand with the arrival of her father. Fans of All My Children (AMC) should be excited to learn that Walt Willey who portrayed Jackson Montgomery, the love of Erica Kane’s life, could soon be joining the Y&R.
Sharon has been through a lot these past couple years between marrying Dylan McAvoy (Steve Burton), having a miscarriage to admitting herself to a psychiatric facility to raising a baby that wasn’t hers for a year. Even though she has suffered greatly, not once have we seen her mother Doris Collins (Karen Hensel) come back to Genoa City to help Sharon cope with all the tragedies or hard times she is facing now.
Doris is the only parent Sharon had for the longest time. Remember Doris became wheelchair bound after a night of searching for a teenage Sharon, she ended up in a car accident, leaving her paralyzed. This isn’t the only time Sharon had left her mother very distraught.
Sharon came home pregnant at the age of 16 and Doris convinced her that she needed to give her baby up for adoption. Sharon struggled through the adoption; right after it, in 1994, they moved to Genoa City to begin a new life.
Walt Willey would be a great addition to this family dynamic. There are so many possibilities for this storyline to play; it will be especially interesting to see how Sharon reacts to having a father around. Did she know he existed, or is he going to arrive in town with the big secret?
We know that the citizens of Genoa City always have skeletons in their closet and it is only a matter of time that they get exposed, so what do you think his secret will be, and how much damage can he cause?
