The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that big things are coming up for all your favorite characters in 2017. However, we haven’t forgotten about the favorites that left us in 2016. Of course, Adam (Justin Hartley) is an easy choice for lots of fans. When Justin Hartley decided to leave The Young and the Restless, viewers were devastated. His tragic exit storyline certainly didn’t help. Hartley’s soap ship seems to have sailed, but that won’t stop us from missing him.
Dr. Neville (Michael E. Knight) is another character that numerous Young and the Restless fans miss. This quirky doc quickly grew on viewers and his romance with Ashley (Eileen Davidson) was quite sweet. It looked like Y&R had found Ashley’s perfect match.
Unfortunately, Dr. Neville was written out and Ashley was left all alone again. They just brought Ravi (Abhi Sinha) in, but it appears he’s going to be a friend instead of a lover. When Dr. Neville left, the potential for a great love story went with him. Let’s hope Ashley gets another chance one day.
Sage’s (Kelly Sullivan) demise also left fans scratching their heads. Just when she finally learned the truth about Christian, Sage died in a horrific car crash. It makes sense that The Young and the Restless wanted to keep the secret in play, but it was still a waste.
They could’ve had Sage sustain a head injury instead. Amnesia could’ve drawn out the storyline and left Sage around for the fallout later. It’s too bad Sage isn’t around to raise the baby she always wanted.
We had to say goodbye to Travis (Michael Roark) this year as well. Many Young and the Restless watchers liked seeing Victoria (Amelia Heinle) with somebody new. The fact that Travis wasn’t related to anyone was also a plus. If he’d stuck around, Travis could’ve been paired with someone else eventually.
Sadly, Y&R turned Travis into a liar and a serial cheater. He left town with his head hung in shame. Nevertheless, Travis was easy on the eyes and it seemed like he wanted to be a better person. It was tough to bid the soap hunk farewell.
