“The Young and the Restless” spoilers indicate that Y&R fans can expect more of Phyllis’ (Gina Tognoni) fierce attitude in the coming weeks’s episodes. Phyllis had lost a bit of her fiery spark in recent months, but it’s back with a vengeance. In an interview with Michaelfairmansoaps.com, Gina Tognoni revealed her thoughts on Phyllis’ shift and discussed what’s next for “Red.”
When asked about Phyllis’ new storyline, Tognoni admitted that she enjoys being an active part of the plot. However, she was quick to point out that even Phyllis’ passive moments have been essential to the character. “I would not have the foundation of my relationship with Jack (Peter Bergman) without all that has gone on before,” Tognoni said. “Right now, Phyllis is where she should be and I am happy for that.”
The Young and the Restless spoilers tell us that we soon see a breakup! Speaking of Phyllis’ relationship with Jack, “The Young and the Restless” buzz suggests that it could be in trouble. Since Billy’s (Jason Thompson) romance with Victoria (Amelia Heinle) may also be in jeopardy, does that mean we could see a Billy and Phyllis pairing?
Tognoni implied that we might, but she hopes it doesn’t happen too quickly. “I think the audience deserves to get the chance to invest in the characters,” Tognoni noted.
Of course, we could end up with a love triangle if Phyllis hooks up with Billy and it prompts jealousy from Victoria. Would Tognoni be up for a soapy catfight? “‘Go for it’ is my motto,” Tognoni enthused. It sounds like something fun for viewers if “The Young and the Restless” writers decide to go there.
Phyllis is currently focused on taking Victor (Eric Braeden) down and she doesn’t seem to care about the potential costs. That could present a problem later. “I think you can probably see her fall from grace,” Tognoni teased. She even added that she “would like to see Phyllis crack.”
Let’s not forget that Phyllis kidnapped Adam (Justin Hartley) so while she is all full of self-righteous indignation at Victor over being unknowingly raped by Marco, she herself is guilty of several serious felonies. There is no way that these will remain hidden throughout the coming episodes over the next few weeks.
It’s easy to see how Phyllis could reach her breaking point under all the pressure. Phyllis is giving this revenge scheme everything she’s got, but will it actually pay off? “The audience says no one ever really wins against Victor, but we are definitely going to see her try,” Tognoni said.
