Hollywood actor Bill Paxton has died at the age of 61. Reports indicate that he died from complications related to heart surgery. He starred in several blockbuster movies including, ‘Twister,’ ‘Titanic,’ ‘Apollo 13,’ and HBO’s ‘Big Love.’ And now many fans can’t help but wonder if his new television show, ‘Training Day’ will be put on hold following his death.

Bill Paxton died on Saturday, February 25 after undergoing heart surgery. According to TMZ, the actor suffered a fatal stroke during post-operation complications. His family released a statement that said, “It is with heavy hearts we share the news that Bill Paxton has passed away due to complications from surgery. He had an illustrious career spanning four decades as a beloved and prolific actor and filmmaker. Bill’s passion for the arts was felt by all who knew him, and his warmth and tireless energy were undeniable.”

For the last several years though, Bill mostly worked on several television roles. He received plenty of praise for his role as polygamist Bill Henrickson on the HBO series, ‘Big Love’ from 2006 to 2011. He received three Golden Globe nominations for the role.

Bill returned to the small screen this year in the CBS police drama, ‘Training Day.’ The show is a spinoff of the highly acclaimed 2001 movie that starred Denzel Washington and Ethan Hawke. So far only four episodes of the show have been broadcast. Bill starred as Detective Frank Roark. The series follows new characters and takes place 15 years after the events that happened in the film.

‘Training Day’ executive producer Jerry Bruckheimer expressed his condolences to Bill’s wife and children, adding that he was a tremendously talented actor. Producer Antoine Fuqua along with Bill’s co-stars Julie Benz, Justin Cornwell, and Drew Van Acker have all expressed their shock and sadness over his death.

So far CBS has not made any comments about whether or not they will continue filming ‘Training Day’ without Bill Paxton. Although they did confirm that all 13 episodes of the first season have been filmed. The next episode of ‘Training Day’ will air on Thursday, March 3.
