Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that a character from the past could be returning. Although nothing has been confirmed, everyone’s buzzing about the news that Michael Easton is leaving General Hospital. Michael Easton plays Dr. Finn on General Hospital, but Days fans might remember him as Tanner Scofield. He was part of the show from 1990-1992.
DOOL’s new head writer, Ron Carlivati, seems to be pulling out all the stops to get the show back on track. The NBC soap’s executive producer, Ken Corday, is excited about the direction Days is headed in. Carlivati is known for his inventive storylines, so we should be getting plenty of drama once his material hits the screen.
Alison Sweeney is set to reprise her role as Sami and Chandler Massey is also coming back as Will. Could Carlivati convince Easton to come back as Tanner? It might be fun to see what he’s up to in 2017. Longtime Days of Our Lives viewers will recall that Tanner was a bartender. He eventually did some amateur detective work as well.
Perhaps Tanner turned that into a career. It would be interesting if Tanner showed up and joined Salem’s team of private investigators. Steve (Stephen Nichols), John (Drake Hogestyn) and Paul (Christopher Sean) could probably use some extra help.
Easton would undoubtedly be a huge score for Days of Our Lives. He’s a popular actor over at General Hospital, so some of his fans might follow him to Days. People who used to like Tanner would be curious, too. Plus, it never hurts to add another soap hunk to the mix.
On General Hospital, Easton’s character almost gets lost in the shuffle. There are too many storylines and characters to fit in much airtime for Finn. However, Easton could be a true leading man over on Days. Tanner could be the answer to DOOL’s search for a suitable love interest for Jennifer (Melissa Reeves). Some viewers like Jen with Eric (Greg Vaughan), but others aren’t really on board.
Easton seems like he might look good next to Melissa Reeves. If not, Tanner could go with Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin), Hope (Kristian Alfonso) or anyone else. It’s always nice when a character isn’t related to the Hortons, Bradys or DiMeras. That way romantic options aren’t limited by family ties.
