Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that Nicole (Arianne Zucker) is wrapping up her time on the NBC soap. She recently extended her contract through late June, so she’ll be filming her last batch of episodes soon. Thanks to DOOL’s advanced taping schedule, Nicole should be seen on screen through the end of the year. However, it’s never too early to speculate on Nicole’s exit.
Recasting is always an option, but that probably won’t be necessary. There are several big returns coming up, so it’s not like Days will need someone to fill that airtime. If they want to recast down the road, they could do it after all the comeback stints fizzle. For now, Nicole may simply be moving on.
Will Nicole leave Salem on a plane, in an orange jumpsuit or in a coffin? All of those possibilities are on the table. Nicole might get fed up with the drama she’s dealt with in this crazy town. If she scores custody of Holly, she could move away to raise her daughter in peace. Nicole loves Brady (Eric Martsolf), but she loves Holly more.
Of course, Nicole could commit a crime that sends her to prison. Days of Our Lives fans know that Nicole is never one to stay on the right side of the law. Perhaps Nicole will do something heinous. She may not be able to avoid punishment.
It’s tough to believe the Holly kidnapping stuff would drag on that long. Maybe Nicole’s next crime will be far worse. Murder or at least attempted murder could land Nicole behind bars. However, this would be an awfully cruel move on DOOL’s part. They finally gave Nicole a child and it would be heartbreaking to think of Nicole rotting in prison without her.
A way around that would be killing Nicole off. No soap character’s demise is irreversible. It’s not like they couldn’t come up with a quick fix if Zucker ever wanted to return or they brought in a recast. A presumed death would make it pretty easy.
Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) is more than willing to serve as Holly’s mom. She could step up if Nicole is believed to be dead. This could set up major conflict if Nicole ever reappears someday. Days of Our Lives could definitely spark some serious issues for Holly.
Whatever the case, Days of Our Lives has been faced with the task of writing Nicole out. How do you think Nicole will exit? Should the show recast or let Nicole leave town?
