Emerald City begins with the Wizard (Vincent D’Onofrio) leaving Emerald City in Eamonn’s (Mido Hamada) care. He informs him he will retrieve the weapons from Lady Ev (Stefanie Martini) and march North to Glinda (Joely Richardson) and bury her and her witchlings; then they will celebrate science over magic.

In a field, West (Ana Ularu) accuses Tip (Jordan Loughran) of keeping secrets and the dagger she has belongs to Princess Ozma of Emerald City. Her father gave it to her on her name day.

West says the dagger is sacred and tells Tip that when the Wizard came after the beast forever, he slaughtered both the King and Queen. West says if the princess survived, she would be exactly Tip’s age, and she was made into a boy to hide her from everyone. West extends the dagger to her and tells her to decide who she is.

Tip wants to know what kind of name is Ozma ; West says it means leader of OZ. Tip is shocked that it is her and West says she was born for greater things like her; they were born to fly. West grabs her and they soar through the air.

Dorothy (Adria Arjona) paces in the room Glinda put her in, there is a pregnant woman on the floor who has been there for months. She tells Dorothy they check on her twice a day. She learns they use magic to enter the room, and the woman is there for the crime of falling in love.

Glinda spared her because of her child; she knows Sylvie (Rebeka Rea) is a witch as well. After Dorothy promises to save her, her baby and Sylvie the woman says she doubts that considering her crime of kidnapping Glinda’s husband, Rowan/Lucas (Oliver Jackson-Cohen).

Glinda is very happy Rowan is back, but wants to know how long he has been traveling with Dorothy, calling her an assassin. He says she isn’t an assassin and she saved his life. He admits he did the same for her when necessary. He says he is not responsible for his actions when he wasn’t himself. She orders him to not come back until he is. She undresses in front of him.

The imprisoned woman says the Wizard is the father of her unborn baby and people should not fear monsters falling from the sky but they should really fear the Wizard of OZ; he is the true beast forever.

Before they speak any more, Rowan comes into the room, she asks if he has children or if he even loves Glinda. Dorothy says it doesn’t matter, when she looks at him, he is still the same man; he questions that. He tells Dorothy to convince Glinda she meant her no harm. When she tells him this was meant to happen, he says Glinda is his wife and this was a mistake; he exits the room and immediately has sex with Glinda.

Glinda tells Sylvie they are going to teach her to use her skills to her full potential. She says Lucas and Dorothy tainted her with their voices and she will be better when she is back with her own kind. She reintroduces her to the girls as Leith and they would remember her from their time with Mother South.

When she leaves the room she orders Dorothy to be killed, but when she comes into the room, Dorothy is trying to help the woman give birth but the baby is breech. The witch leaves to get help from Glinda. Jack (Gerran Howell) is awaken by servants offering him breakfast and a bath, when they see his metal parts, they offer to oil his odd parts.

West flies Tip into a secret crypt even the Wizard doesn’t know about. She shows Tip the urn holding what is left of her sister, East (Florence Kasumba); she wants Tip to drink her sister’s essence. Tip asks if she drinks it can she turn back into a boy and West says she can turn herself into a tomato if it works. She admits no one has ever done this before.

Tip drinks it and has visions of when she was a baby and the King and Queen were trying to save her. A man dressed as a lion kills them on orders from the Wizard. Tip falls unconscious and West screams for her to wake up. Jack attempts to see Queen Eve, who tells him he cannot be in the room and he decides to take a carriage ride instead.

Lucas/Rowan walks where the young witches are, and tells Sylvie to eat, when she attempts to each the other witches send her bowl across the table several times. Sylvie begins to vibrate and turns the bowl into stone. Lucas observes what is going on.

Glinda arrives and tells her witch to help Dorothy deliver the baby. Dorothy needs to turn the baby but there is no medication to ease her pain. Glinda uses magic to remove her pain. Lucas runs into the room when he hears screaming and Glinda’s jealousy is all over her face. Lucas kneels beside Dorothy to help the baby come. Lucas and Dorothy share a special moment holding the baby and Glinda orders him to leave them.

West carries Tip down and does a ritual for her, asking for her to forgive her. Tip sinks down to the depths of the water.

Rowan/Lucas comes to see Glinda who won’t look at him because he isn’t really there. He says he is trying; she asks how he felt when he witnessed that birth because he knew it was something they could never share. She reminds him of the pact they made about keeping their secrets from the world but not from each other.

He admits he loves Glinda but they cannot live like this; she says they don’t have to because war is upon them, 1000 soldiers left Emerald City yesterday and his life or death will depend on which side he chooses. Meanwhile, the Wizard orders his soldiers to make sure the camp is protected and he will gather the weapons and return before sunrise.

Jack comes to see the woman who saved him with all his metal parts. She is surprised to hear he is with Ev and not Tip. He admits life with Ev is easy because she owns him. He learns she is closing up shop because her position there has been terminated by Queen Ev. She fired her because she refused to create guns for her. Jack says he won’t let the termination happen. She says when she found Jack he was afraid he lost his heart but that isn’t possible.

Glinda walks with Dorothy, who says if she is going to kill her to just do it. Glinda said she was going to until she learned she saved her husband’s life as well as that woman and her baby.

Dorothy asks about Sylvie wondering if she thinks Sylvie will be a soldier, she says it depends on their resilience and resistance; and brings Dorothy into a room where several young witches were pushed beyond their limits. Glinda asks Dorothy if she can save them; admitting she will lose all of them if that is what it takes.

Glinda says science is not magic. They are magic, and the magic IS OZ! She tells Dorothy if she doesn’t find a way to save these girls, she will not save herself. Dorothy tries to leave the room with Glinda but the wall shuts her inside. As the other witches continue to bully Sylvie, she controls her powers and brings her bowl back in front of her; the others just stared at her, so she uses her powers and brings all their bowls to her; they clap and laugh for her.

Glinda is trimming her tree when West flies in, she says when West appears it is seldomly good news. She says she has a special gift for her and its West. She forgives Glinda for hiding her mother from her. She admits to be shameful, but she needs her mother and she is ready to redeem herself and serve her and their mother.

Glinda shares that their mother saw West as her heir. Glinda refuses to tell her were she is. Glinda shoves her away saying she has snuffed out all her light and all she is now is a void.

Queen Ev comes to see Jack, saying she couldn’t wait all day to see him. He is angry that she was so heartless to Jane. She says its because she said no to her. Jack tells her she can’t just enjoy people when it suits her; use them up and toss them aside. She says people serve for a purpose of business or personal.

She admits the only reason he is alive is because she paid Jane to fix him and the only reason she has feelings for him is because he is her property. She says how else is she to know what is hers. He tells her to prove it, that he is free and asks if he will leave her like everyone else.

Lucas arrives with another sickly witch and Dorothy says he pushed them too hard and she cannot help them. She asks if this is what he is going to do to Sylvie. She says this isn’t the way and her hands turn to gold and rubies. She accepts that she lost him but she isn’t going to lose Sylvie. She puts on her jacket and opens the wall and leaves. He demands to know how she did that, but the wall locks him inside.

She enters Glinda’s room and hangs her by her sheet, almost killing her. Lucas says she will have to kill him first. Dorothy stops and leaves with Glinda yelling at him for not going after her.

Dorothy finds the room the young witches are in, she calls for Sylvie to go with her, but she stands with the young witches and refuses to leave. Dorothy continues to run through the house.

Glinda says the man she loved would have gutted her, and tore her apart to protect her. Lucas begs her to bring that man back. She says only he could do that; he says her spell is useless and its Dorothy’s he cannot break. He says he tried for her and them, but wants her to just rip it out of him. Glinda draws his blade and tells him he must do that; he must take her life and his heart will be free. She says if he doesn’t do it, she will.

Jack leaves Queen Ev’s palace but sees the Wizard and his guards arrive; they welcome him saying his weapons are ready and they all draw their guns on him. Back in Emerald City, Eamonn says it is true that war is coming soon. He opens a chest revealing the Lion mask, the same mask of the man who killed Tip’s parents.

West is crying, begging her sister to sing that song for her. She admits she is scared and doesn’t want to die. She sits in the crypt and slits her wrists open, saying she has magic to protect her. As her blood seeps down below, Tip arrives.

THE END!
