General Hospital (GH) spoilers from a brand new ABC promo reveal that Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) will once again be in danger because of Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) criminal enterprises. An old enemy is coming back for Sonny and it looks like the dimpled gangster is going to wind up back in the ER with another gunshot wound before all is said and done.
The adventure begins simultaneously on Sonny’s island and back in Port Charles. Sonny and Carly are down on his private island sorting out the documents Sonny signed to give Carly all of his assets. Since the pair is moving forward with the divorce, they have loose ends to take care of before they can make their split official. But Sonny’s got his mind on more than divorce.
Sonny has his mind on reconciliation so he’s playing along with Carly’s divorce talk while hoping being alone on the island will spark romance. But Carly and Sonny getting cozy goes off the rails. The new GH promo video warns, “When his dangerous past comes knocking, someone’s going to die.” Carly answers the door at Sonny’s villa and finds a gun in her face.
GH spoilers say this is a new threat from an old face. Meanwhile, back in Port Charles, Julian Jerome (William deVry) hears a whisper from his old mob network that Sonny is in danger. Julian wants to prove he’s totally reformed so he tells his son-in-law so that he can warn Sonny. Jason Morgan (Billy Miller) takes the news to Sam Morgan (Kelly Monaco) who insists CarSon must be warned.
But will Sam follow Jason to the island? Some solid GH spoilers hint that Sam will be the one that shoots Sonny because she’s having hallucinatory issues. Perhaps Sam thinks she’s shooting the enemy… It could also be the one with the gun at the door that puts a bullet in Sonny. But just who is this old enemy? James DePaiva was just announced for a super secret new role.
If it is Jimmy, he’d be a recast of an old mobster or maybe a cousin of Frank Smith or Joe Scully. The video promo shows Sonny grappling with a man that could be James. Alternately, there are two mobsters that died under conditions that could allow them to be brought back. Joe Scully Jr (Richard Steinmetz) never died on screen – we heard that he expired later.
And there’s Damian Smith (Leigh McCloskey) who burned in a fire and we know how many people have risen from the ashes in Port Charles. It will be interesting if it’s Damian or Joe Jr, much more so than if GH is writing a new character adjacent to an old Port Charles mobster. Sonny and Carly head to the island on Tuesday’s GH and the threat plays out there the rest of the week.
The promo ends with a bang and there are GH spoilers of Sonny being shot. Whether it’s Sam that pulls the trigger, this old enemy, or someone else remains to be seen. GH loves to end mob promos with gunshots and sometimes, no one is shot at all. We’ll see how this all plays out this week.
