General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal the custody battle over Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez) is about to get nasty. The two sides face off in court next week and there are stunning revelations promised from new DNA tests ordered as part of the case.
We know this custody rivalry over Charlotte will be bitter. Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) was willing to play nice but since Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan) upset and scared Charlotte again and again, he’s no longer willing to share their daughter.
Lulu wanted sole custody also and wasn’t thinking about the damage that might do her daughter. All Lulu could see was that she was tied to Charlotte by biology but Charlotte thought Claudette Beaulieu (Bree Williamson) was her mother.
Naturally, it was wrong to let Charlotte assume that but, then again, Valentin didn’t think Lulu would ever be in their lives. Lulu was probably happy to hear Claudette was dead and gone because, to her, that cleared the path for her to be Charlotte’s only mommy.
But what Lulu didn’t think about was Charlotte was grieving the death of the only mother she knew when Lulu sprang the bio mom fact on her. Valentin warned Lulu not to do it but she couldn’t help herself. Will everything be shaken up again by new DNA tests?
Charlotte’s paternity has been a question before. Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) and Griffin Munro (Matt Cohen) were possible fathers so it seems logical that the judge assigned to the case would order one more set of maternal and paternal DNA tests.
In fact, Charlotte might not be Lulu’s or she might not be Valentin’s kid either. GH fans would love if Charlotte turned out to be Lulu and Dante Falconeri’s (Dominic Zamprogna) daughter. That could be the end result of these new tests. Or maybe not.
General Hospital spoilers have been simmering that there are more shakeups to come in the custody case and with Charlotte’s identity. Don’t forget that her birth certificate shows she was born in the 1990s. Either that was a mistake by the GH props department or there is more to the story.
Some have even suggested Laura Spencer (Genie Francis) might be Charlotte’s mother and Stavros Cassadine (Robert Kelker Kelly) her father and the embryo was on ice for a long time. There’s also the issue that Valentin might not be Valentin.
Valentin went by a different name at the WSB and there has been no proven link between him and the Cassadines biologically. If Valentin is an imposter, that would explain a lot – for instance why he’s more warm and cuddly than terrifying as Helena said.
Valentin could have easily rigged the DNA tests. Griffin sent three tests to three different labs but we all know how easily manipulated DNA tests are on soaps. Valentin might be Charlotte’s father but someone else might be her mother.
Sharing a biological child with Lulu might be part of his cover as Valentin when he’s really an imposter. We’ll find out more about Valentin, Charlotte, and the truth of her origins during the upcoming custody battle. Port Charles will be rocked when it all comes out!
