General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Laura Wright announced her new relationship proudly on Instagram on Sunday, May 28 when she shared a pic of herself with Wes Ramsey on the beach. In the pic, Laura looked relaxed and makeup free as she chilled with her fellow actor and her new boyfriend in the sand.
Laura piled several hashtags onto the pic including life is beautiful, new beginnings, crazy, grateful and happy me along with a heart emoji. It sure seems that Laura is smitten with her new beau Wes but this inspires the questions of how long have these two been dating and who introduced them? They have several pals in common so this might have been a fix up.
Just a few weeks ago at the Daytime Emmys, Laura rode along with coworker Donnell Turner (GH’s Curtis Ashford) to a lunch event then brought her son and daughter as her date to the actual Emmy awards night. So, were Laura and Wes already a thing by then but decided to keep it away from the awards circuit?
There are two likely General Hospital suspects that could have been the matchmakers for Laura Wright and Wes Ramsey. One is Finola Hughes. Finola knows Wes from outside of the soap realm. Both of them appeared on The WB’s witchy series Charmed. Wes played the grown-up version of Piper and Leo’s oldest son Wyatt Halliwell. Finola Hughes played Wyatt’s grandma Patty Halliwell.
Both Finola and Wes appeared in the final two finale episodes of Charmed back in 2006 and both Finola and Wes have appeared at Charmed conventions so they know each other. Could Finola have introduced Wes to her current co-worker Laura Wright and that’s what sparked their love match? That would be a nice favor for Finola to do for her two friends.
Or could it have been Hillary B Smith (Nora Buchanan, One Live to Live) that introduced Wes and Laura and sparked this hot new romance? Hillary and Wes worked together on the web soap Venice: The Series which enjoyed five seasons online and is partially based on a storyline from Guiding Light where Wes Ramsey also worked years ago.
Hillary B Smith played a character named Guya and was also a series producer. Wes played Van on Venice: The Series. Since Hillary B Smith was recently guesting on GH, perhaps it was her that introduced Laura Wright to her hot new boyfriend. One other shared connection between Wes and Laura is Kimberly McCullough (GH’s Robin Scorpio).
Kimberly directed episodes of Pretty Little Liars and Wes Ramsey appeared on PLL as Jesse Lindall so maybe Kim is the one that introduced Wes and Laura. Of course, it’s also possible that Wes and Laura’s romance cropped up organically with no matchmaking at all. Laura and Wes also could have stumbled over each other on the set of Guiding Light, but they had no shared storylines.
