General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that something is seriously wrong with Sam Morgan (Kelly Monaco). Some GH fans have speculated that she might be suffering from post-partum depression, but her symptoms don’t align with that ailment. There are a number of GH summer spoilers that promise Sam will have a rocky road ahead and battles an enemy from her past.
But that enemy might not be a person, but a painful illness that Sam survived. You might remember back in 2006 that there was an encephalitis epidemic in Port Charles. Sam’s special needs brother Danny McCall (David Greenman) was in town when Sam was struck by the serious illness. Danny was taking care of his sister and that resulted in him being infected as well.
Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) was also infected. Sam received an antidote and was cured and when there was one dose left, it came down to either Alexis or Danny getting the cure. It went to Alexis and Sam had to watch her beloved brother die. This was an extremely painful time in Sam’s life and it’s on her mind since she’s confusing Scout’s name with Danny’s, her son named after her brother.
Now, when Alexis noticed Sam was looking pale, her daughter remarked that she can’t eat or sleep and that it’s exhausting caring for Scout. However, Sam doesn’t seem detached from her daughter in any way which is common with post partum – as GH fans saw with Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) after she gave birth to Michael Quartermaine (Chad Duell).
General Hospital spoilers say that what Sam’s symptoms could be caused by is a recurrence of her encephalitis. This dangerous illness can come back even after a victim has been successfully treated. Sam’s exhaustion, lack of appetite, and insomnia are all symptoms of the disease. When Alexis sent Sam to get a massage, Sam couldn’t relax and then started hearing voices. Cognitive issues are also symptoms.
Sam heard whispered warnings in her head saying, that “She’s not safe” and “Your family’s in danger”. The messages themselves may not mean anything, but the fact that she’s hearing them is troubling. Sam is no Olivia Falconeri (Lisa LoCicero), the local Port Charles semi-psychic. This is a symptom of something going wrong in her brain triggering the strange whispers – and it could be encephalitis.
The General Hospital spoilers that Sam will face an old enemy over summer could be about a major health crisis. Not only that but if Sam’s encephalitis is back, the whisper in her head was correct – her whole family would be in danger. The type of encephalitis Sam has is contagious – it’s what killed her brother Danny and almost killed Alexis.
That means Sam, Jason Morgan (Billy Miller) and their kids could all be at risk from a life-wrecking illness. Sam has more mental issues next week that lead to a full-blown premonition.
