General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) will have his heart broken this week when Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) tells him she’s done with him for good. Sonny has been convinced that he could talk Carly into sticking with him, but he couldn’t. CarSon may be over and done but Sonny will be getting a new shot at love soon enough.
Sonny kept making excuses to Carly for why he lied about Nelle Hayes (Chloe Lanier) and let her dig her claws deeper into Michael Quartermaine (Chad Duell) and Carly also. Sonny said he tried to warn Michael off Nelle but he’s kidding himself if he thought that was enough. The only thing that dimmed Michael’s enthusiasm was learning Sonny slept with Nelle.
Although it is Nelle’s plot that started this mess, Sonny fell back on his usual practice of lying and hiding things from his family. It was a perfect storm of betrayal although Nelle couldn’t have known Sonny would play an unwitting part in her plans. General Hospital spoilers Sonny tries over and over this week to keep Carly with him, but she packs what little she has at Sonny’s place and moves on with her life.
Sonny overplayed his hand by reminding Carly on Monday’s GH that she lied to him, too. Sonny betrayed Carly at a time when she was already suffering from the death of her youngest son and that’s what she can’t get past. Carly gives Sonny a kiss goodbye and then they’re done. By the end of the week, Sonny feels utterly defeated and knows Carly is done with him.
Sonny won’t have to wallow in misery too long before a lovely new young woman enters his life. General Hospital put out a casting call back in January for a new lawyer on the show named Martina, although we know names can change between casting and when they turn up on General Hospital. But documents leaked from ABC show that Martina is definitely intended for Sonny – at least for a while.
Martina is described as “an experienced attorney” who is smart, tough and likes to win. She reportedly will have a “fiery temper” and she’s “passionately drawn to Sonny.” The character description also says “She kissed him [Sonny] before she ever realized he’s a mobster who could jeopardize her career.” The scene that leaked shows Martina and Sonny talking outside a courtroom.
It sounds like they met at a bar, he accidentally spilled her drink, and they wound up making out. The casting notes also hint that Martina might be the new DA that no one has seen yet. We’ve only heard Jordan Ashford (Vinessa Antoine) refer to her as “she” so we know it’s a woman and that she’s tough. Sonny does have good chemistry with the lawyers in his life, so this could be hot!
According to spoilers from Nathan Varni, CarSon should find their way back to each other eventually. After all, Carly told Sonny when she walked out on him on Monday, if she hadn’t stopped loving him by now, she’d probably always love him. But loving Sonny has never stopped Carly from leaving him. Perhaps Sonny’s new love interest is designed to make Carly jealous so she’ll come back.
