General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) will be devastated when he realizes how close he came to losing Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez) at the Nurses Ball and it all comes back to the mistakes of his past. Valentin does some soul searching after the ball and makes a shocking life change that affects Charlotte and several others.
Valentin wants to win Nina Clay Cassadine (Michelle Stafford) back and he performed the eloquent Billy Joel song “And So It Goes” in tribute to his wife. Valentin wowed the crowd and Nina’s heart softened but things will get much worse on the new GH episode, Thursday, May 25. Armed men invade the Nurses Ball and they’re there for the Chimera Project. That means Valentin has put Nina and Charlotte both at risk.
General Hospital spoilers reveal that one of the gunmen winds up holding Nina hostage and Valentin attacks the guy to save her. But after all the dust settles and Charlotte survives, Valentin realizes what a close call it was for his beloved daughter. If Valentin didn’t get involved with Anna and Alex Devane (Finola Hughes) back in the day and didn’t steal the Chimera, Charlotte never would have been at risk of losing her life.
Valentin takes stock of his life after this incident and realizes he’s not the ideal parent for Charlotte even though that’s how he’s been playing it with the court. Nina insists she wasn’t with Valentin just to be a mom to Charlotte and it’s obvious that she loves him. With Charlotte sharing time between Wyndemere and Lulu’s house she shares with Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) and Rocco Falconeri, this will change the family dynamic. Charlotte begins to bond more deeply with Lulu, Dante and Rocco as a family unit, but she still loves Nina and her Papa. It looked like Valentin and Lulu were heading into a bitter battle back in court soon, but Valentin’s change of heart signals a major shift that will allow everyone to move forward. Lulu is still harboring a grudge because Valentin shot Nikolas Cassadine (Tyler Christopher), but that might change.
There is still General Hospital buzz that a recast Nikolas could return soon and GH fans all know he’s not really dead. Cassadines never die that easily. If Nikolas shows up alive, Lulu wouldn’t have much to hate Valentin for so it’s possible these two could learn to co-parent amicably. With Charlotte splitting time between the two houses, everything will change soon – and it will all be for the better.
It’s clear this Chimera thing won’t be over this week and the fallout will last for months to come.
