‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers have teased that there is a connection, a very deep bond, between Anna Devane [Finola Hughes] and Valentin Cassadine [James Patrick Stuart]. Anna has looked into Valentin’s eyes many times and is convinced she knows him.
Anna doesn’t recognize Valentin’s face, but there is something in his eyes that has stirred up memories. ‘GH’ spoilers reveal that one of those first memories will be of a violent encounter with Valentin. It appears as if Anna will confront the vile Cassadine and accuse him of forcing himself upon her several years ago.
This ‘General Hospital’ spoilers has lead viewers to believe it’s possible Robin Scorpio [Kimberly McCullough] is Valentin’s daughter and not Robert Scorpio’s [Tristan Rogers]. But what if Anna’s connection with Valentin doesn’t go back that far?
In a recent interview James Patrick Stuart revealed additional ‘GH’ spoilers, including information that flashback scenes of Anna and Valentin had been filmed. The actor promises fans that the scenes are filled with emotion and that there is a huge reveal headed Anna’s way.
If Anna sees something in Valentin’s eyes that is triggering memories, but she doesn’t remember his face, it’s possible that Valentin is someone else from Anna’s past? Someone who had plastic surgery hiding his true identity until Anna remembers everything about their relationship?
‘General Hospital’ fans may recall that Anna crossed over to ‘All My Children’ and connected with Dr. David Hayward [Vincent Irizarry]. The couple married and Anna became pregnant and gave birth to a daughter David and Anna named Leora.
David and Anna’s happiness was soon dashed when it as discovered that Leora had a heart defect and required a pacemaker. David was against the surgery, he believed Leora wouldn’t survive and wanted to wait until the newborn was stronger. Anna disagreed with David but eventually signed off on the surgery.
Sadly, Leora supposedly did not survive. In her grief, Anna took her infant daughter into a secluded closet in the hospital and in a heartbreaking moment spoke to her little girl, and sang her a lullaby. Could this be the lullaby that Anna recognized and jogged her memeory recently? Eventually the pain of Leora’s death drove Anna and David apart and they divorced. Anna left Pine Valley and eventually returned to Port Charles.
Anna once told David he was the love of her life. What if David, now Valentin after plastic surgery, engaged in a passionate off-screen affair? Did Valentin reveal himself to be David, then a violent confrontation ensued and Valentin drugged Anna so she would forget what happened?
‘All My Children’ viewers will remember that David was prone to drugging people. Among his long list of crimes, the not so good doctor gave Adam Chandler [David Canary] an injection that nearly caused his death. David was attempting to frame Jake Martin [then J. Eddie Peck] for murder.
He also used an experimental drug on Dixie Martin [Cady McClain]. The list of David playing fast and loose with drugs goes on and on.
Since ‘General Hospital’ spoilers have previously revealed that Valentin has dropped clues for Anna to jog her memory, the twist to Anna and Valentin’s connection could be that the villainous Cassadine is really Anna’s former AMC husband David.
With the lawsuit between Prospect Park and ABC settled and the rights to the characters from ‘All My Children’ returned to the network, maybe TPTB decided to bring back David with a new face, a new name and an extremely mysterious history.
