Niska was in Berlin. She had changed her hair and was mostly trying to live under the radar however she had made a friend. Niska had met a young woman at the club that had been interested in her and so she had invited her new friend back to her place. But Niska’s relationship with the other woman had helped make a decision. She had wondered if she should make others like her self-aware and her new girlfriend had convinced her that giving someone life didn’t have to be scary. So Niska had done what she thought was best and she gave life.

Niska uploaded the code or possible the cure depending on how you saw it yet it hadn’t worked liked plan. There had been other synths around Niska and so she questioned if what she did had any impact when the others didn’t suddenly become conscious. However, the program did work and the others were simply waking up a little slower than she had anticipated. So the revolution that Niska had desperately wanted was coming true little by little and the other synths were wise enough to reach out for help.

The others were making sure that they were above ground and had access to cell phones and whatever technology they needed to ask for help. Yet, getting around and even earning cash was difficult. Mia after all was pretending like she was still a non-thinking synth in order to work at a little shop where she can still be ‘Anita’. So existing out in a world where they are the ones that are different was hard on them though Max and Leo were around to help. The guys were the ones that reached out to the emerging synths and tell him what was happening.

Though the transition wasn’t always easy. There were a few synths that began public displays in moments of actually dealing with human emotions and the fact that there were also reported around the world about synths they were waking up meant it wasn’t much of a secret anymore. So the synths were hunted. Their owners would put in better tracking devices and try to find them just to destroy them, but Max and Leo were doing the best they could to fight that. The guys would meet with the latest synth that needs help and they would try to rescue them.

So the guys took great personal risk to reach the synths and at the same time they had suffered tragedy when they rescued Hester. Hester was a factory synth and her function was mostly to move shipments. But she woke up and she had run when the human noticed that she was reacting her function however she was pursued and inevitably led her trackers right to the same people that wanted to help. I.e. Max, Leo, and Ten. Ten had had a rude awakening very much like Hester and he was telling her what had happened to him when they had all been found.

The trackers had followed them to the tunnel system they were using and they had made sure to bring armed guards with them. So, sadly, the guys lost Ten as they were making their escape yet what had hurt them the most had been that Ten had never gotten the chance to pick his name. Ten had been indecisive as he thought about the many chances that suddenly his own alone. However, Ten hadn’t died for nothing because the guys had escaped with a prisoner.

They had gotten away in a van and had found someone hiding back there. Yet, Leo had wanted to hold onto their prisoner because he thought that they might get information out of him. So he had questioned their prisoner the second he had gotten back to the house though it seems that the man they had kidnapped hadn’t known anything about the operation other than he was supposed to collect someone’s “property”. And so what Leo did had been for nothing and he hadn’t wanted the others to tell Mia about it.

Mia had been made enough when she found out that Ten died because Leo and James wouldn’t leave the other synths alone. She had said that they had stability and she hadn’t wanted to jeopardize that. Though Leo had thought she was jeopardizing that already by going to work and being around people. So she told him that she wanted to be around people and that she also wanted time to figure out who she was, but they both held onto an ideology that the other simply refused to understand when they just as easily have made the effort.

But Mia and Leo’s relationship was going through growing pains and that was part of being human. Laura and Joe were in actuality struggling to moves past certain trust issues and therapy with a synth therapist was something that neither of them thought would help yet surprisingly is. So the Hawkins were doing their best to move on from everything that happened as well as dealing with Joe suddenly being out of a job when Niska showed up. Niska’s time in Berlin and her girlfriend had been good for her because it taught her about the responsibility she owes to the synths she woke up.

So Niska who had heard the reports about synths ignoring commands had left Berlin behind because she now wants to go on trial as a living being for murder and she wants the Hawkins’ help with defining living synth’s rights!

THE END!
