Kate Middleton doesn’t mind having her children Prince George and Princess Charlotte grow up in the public eye, even though her husband Prince William is against it. In fact, many royal observers can’t help but wonder why the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge would agree to posing in a black-and-white family photo for a major magazine publication, especially since William says he wants to keep his kids out of the limelight.
Prince William opened up about his family life and the pressure of bringing up George and Charlotte in the media spotlight in British GQ Magazine. He admits that he wants both of his children to live private lives. Yet he and Kate Middleton are posing in a new family photo with Charlotte and George playing with their spaniel Lupo.
William said, “I want to bring up my children in a happy, stable, secure world and that is so important to both of us as parents. I want George to grow up in a real, living environment, I don’t want him growing up behind palace walls, he has to be out there. The media make it harder but I will fight for them to have a normal life.”
Sure, Prince William says that he wants Prince George and Princess Charlotte to live a normal life but at the same time his wife Kate Middleton is putting them in the spotlight. After all, both Prince George and Princess Charlotte were the stars of their aunt Pippa Middleton’s wedding earlier this month. In fact, both George and Charlotte managed to gain more attention than the bride herself. And each and every time the Duke and Duchess make a public appearance with their children, the focus is always on them.
With that being said, as much as Prince William wants his children to live normal lives, it might never happen. As members of the royal family, they will always be in the spotlight, whether the Duke of Cambridge likes it or not.
After all, he is the future King of England. Even royal observers know that Prince William can’t expect to shield his family from the public eye forever, especially since it’s his wife Kate Middleton who is insisting on putting them in family magazine photo shoots like this one for GQ Magazine.
