Kate Middleton is once again feeling embarrassed over her parents Michael Middleton and Carole Middleton’s behavior in public. This time around the Duchess of Cambridge admitted that her father made a major faux pas in front of a tennis star. She also said that her mother Carole has a huge crush on another one.
In a new BBC documentary with presenter Sue Barker, The Duchess recalled a moment when her father humiliated her by calling a tennis star by the wrong name. She said in her interview, “My father is not going to appreciate this but we were walking past Tim Henman and had just seen Sampras play. ‘My dad said “Hi Pete”. I was mortified.’”
Kate also revealed that her mother is a huge fan of Roger Federer. In fact, she even said that the Wimbledon ace is her mother’s secret crush. She said, “Roger [Federer] is my mother’s heartthrob. I don’t think she will mind me saying that! I think he probably knows that too.’”
Clearly, Michael and Carole Middleton love to use their daughter’s royal connections to rub elbows with some of the biggest names in the tennis world. But for Michael to call a tennis champion by the wrong name and for Carole to openly flirt with another one has to be embarrassing for Kate. It’s no wonder the royal family forces them to keep out of the spotlight.
Plus, a lot of royal fans believe there’s a good reason why Kate Middleton’s parents aren’t invited to many royal engagements and public events. Everyone still remembers how Carole Middleton acted drunk at a Rugby match back in 2015. She was spotted with a bottle of wine while watching England’s agonizing defeat during the Rugby World Cup in London. She had a hard time containing her emotions and looked fired-up, tired and frustrated throughout the entire game.
If that weren’t enough, a lot of royal observers believe that Carole Middleton might also be the person behind all of the Middleton family photo leaks. There are always new photos of Kate’s childhood in the press, which a lot of people think come straight from Carole herself.
