Is Kate Middleton struggling with parenthood? Prince William recently revealed that Kate might be using online parenting sites like Mumsnet for help with trivial everyday parenting issues.
According to reports, both Prince William and Kate Middleton were talking about the challenges of modern-day parenting during a royal engagement at the new Ronald McDonald Evelina House in London. The facility was built as a ‘home away from home’ to accommodate families of children being treated at a nearby hospital.
That’s where the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge met with Justine Roberts, co-founder of the popular online chat site for moms, Mumsnet. Apparently, Prince William told Justine Roberts that Kate “may well be” a user of the parenting network while he was presenting her with an award for services to the British economy.
According to the Mirror, Justine even said, “We speculated as to whether the Duchess of Cambridge was a Mumsnetter. I suggested that a lot of conversation (on the website) was about feckless husbands but said ‘don’t worry because it is all anonymous.”
Many Mumsnet users often use the site to complain about their lives, their marriages, their children and their everyday struggles. And the best part is that they can do it anonymously. Someone like the Duchess can log on to the site and share her problems with thousands of other mothers who deal with similar issues. Mumsnet users even share embarrassing problems that they wouldn’t even tell their closest friends or family members about.
It wouldn’t be surprising to hear that someone like Kate is using the Internet for help. Plenty of mothers her age look to mom blogs, forums, and sites for answers to everyday parenting questions. On the other hand though, Kate Middleton isn’t like other moms. She has a royal team of nannies, housekeepers, and kitchen staff that work around the clock to make sure she and her two children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, have everything they need. So, should she be complaining about parenthood considering all the help she gets at home? That’s what fans want to know.
